Our Housekeeper Was 14 Minutes Late This Morning

Housekeeper? How poor are you that you only have one?
One a serious note, is there a better way to waste money than to pay someone to clean your house because you are to lazy to do it yourself?
It is called "leverage". Something I don't expect a poor to understand. When you can make more money doing your work than you have to pay someone to do tasks then you hire out those tasks. This simple lack of understanding is one of the things that keeps poor people poor.

On a serious note, back when I was in my late 20's-early 30's I rented a condo from an old lady in CR. She had a cleaning company come and do a deep clean on the unit once every other week free of charge to me. It was freaking awesome/csb

I am not at all surprised that you think you’re too valuable. Just one lazy sad sack.

The point is, if someone makes $500/hr, then they are better off paying someone to clean their house for $40/hr rather than doing it themselves. Unless, of course, they enjoy cleaning their house. Taking it to the extreme, do you think Jeff Bezos should clean his house and mow his lawn, or pay someone to do it for him?

So you’re telling me that someone making $500/hr is working 24/7 so they can’t clean it? Or are they just too lazy/important to clean it. I’m not at all saying a person can’t have a housekeeper, I just asked if there is a bigger waste of money than a house keeper.

I guess first you would need to explain to me how I said someone having a cleaner made them poor? All I said is that paying a house cleaner has to be one of the biggest wastes of money.
... Until you actually do. At that point a person wonders how they've gone so long without a housecleaner.

I guess I’d ask how big is the house and value on it to know whether you are talking rich or just really a poor having your dilapidated house cleaned.

You should leverage some free time into your work contract. Sucks you have to work 24/7 and have to pay someone to clean because you have no free time at home.
Again if you want to pay someone because you would rather be doing something with your free time, go ahead. But don’t pretend like you have no time and have to pay someone. You pay someone because you can. Which brings me back to my question. Is there a bigger waste of money than having a housekeeper?

I'd argue that farm subsidies are a bigger waste of money. Door Dash also a bigger waste of money, but don't take my Door Dash. Uber/Lyft, HUGE waste of money. Just don't drink. Boom. Save money two ways.

Dude, why you hatin on those with a surplus? Life is too short.

This clearly had offended more people than I ever intended it to. Hell my brother’s family has a house cleaner and I give him crap all the time. His choice, I just think it’s a pretty big waste of money when it’s something you can easily do.

FYI: if you were taking to me, I don’t use DoorDash, or drink. Nor do I use Lyft or uber but I wouldn’t consider those a waste of money. In fact they could possibly save a lot of money (OWI).

People that often indicate they’re too busy or don’t have enough time, are in my opinion, liars and want to inflate their position in life or just terrible with time management.

I might be lazy, but they do a good job, and a lot of times I just don't want to do it. I can afford it so, shrug, why not?

Hate all you want, idngaf.

If you’re making 250k a year and you’re paying $100/day, for your house to be cleaned, it’s not laziness, it’s practicality.

Generally one does their own cleanup after meals, but someone doing the vacuuming, dusting, mopping, cleaning bathrooms etc, is well worth the money.

Also if one lives on a hill, better to pay the insured lawn guy to mow than let the major breadwinner have a serious accident.

It’s just practical.

Please justify how it is “practical” to have someone clean your house.
I will admit having someone mow your lawn if you live on a hill could be justified.
I don’t know many men or women dying while vacuuming, dusting or mopping.
Again, it’s just someone paying money because they have money.
