Our Housekeeper Was 14 Minutes Late This Morning

So you’re telling me that someone making $500/hr is working 24/7 so they can’t clean it? Or are they just too lazy/important to clean it. I’m not at all saying a person can’t have a housekeeper, I just asked if there is a bigger waste of money than a house keeper.
There are many bigger wastes of money than a housekeeper. Fast food instead of cooking healthy food yourself, getting door dash, buying clothes you will never wear, going shopping just to go shopping.

I’m sure many can add to the list.

If one has a full life, and/or one is on call 24/7, it is a great help, especially when one has deadlines.

Please justify how it is “practical” to have someone clean your house.
I will admit having someone mow your lawn if you live on a hill could be justified.
I don’t know many men or women dying while vacuuming, dusting or mopping.
Again, it’s just someone paying money because they have money.
When your mother is a professional musician that practices 8 hours a day, plus teaches, and your father is an AF officer, and your mother cooks meals everyday for the family, you weigh the good versus the bad.

It’s about being practical.

Have you ever lived with someone who makes their living as an artist or a musician?

Do you have a clue what it takes for someone to be successful? When I’ve had shows, I’ve worked solid 16 hour days preparing for shows. Not only do we spend time creating our work, we have to spend time supplementing income by teaching.

Haha. Omg someone is working 8 hours a day and making meals. How would they ever find an hour every two weeks to clean.
Too bad you can’t take 5 minutes to clean the toilets one day. 10 minutes to dust a different day. Another 15 to vacuum a different day.
Plus your 16 hour work day during shows isn’t the icing on the cake like you think it is. When I started my work career I worked a full time and part time job, 12-15 hours every day Monday through Friday. Not just days I had a show, and guess what, I still had time to clean my house.

Again. If someone wants to pay for an housekeeper, that’s totally fine. But, everyone has time to clean. It’s just a choice if you want to or not or if you’d rather pay someone to do it.

Here you go, judging people for their lifestyle, when you have no clue about the person.

Well, I don’t know how you keep house, but dusting for 10 minutes, vacuuming for 15 minutes, tells me all I need to know. Your house is not clean.

Nice try though.

You see, I clean my house. I dust and polish furniture. Do you know how you treat good wood? Lemon oil, not pledge. That is, if you want to protect your solid wood furniture.

Next, if it only takes 10 minutes for you to thoroughly clean your bathroom, well I take much longer than that, and so have all my housekeepers. Not so sure I’d want to use your bathroom.

You are on a rampage in this thread over the most minimal of a topic.

And just fyi, ever since I turned 50 I go days in between moments at the bar that last over 24 hours. Living healthy these days. Doc says I have the liver of an 18 year old athlete and don’t want to mess that up.

Sounds like you need a lesson on how to clean. Is your housekeeper paid by the job or hourly?

It really says a lot about a person. It's just laziness.

I look down upon people who hire other people to clean up their mess.

I take my own trash to the dump! What I lose in time I more than make up for in enhanced sense of superiority to the lazy dweebs that put their trash at the curb.

LOLOL.

I need no lessons in a clean house. I grew up in Japan. Ever have a Japanese maid? I doubt it. You probably never left the town you grew up in.

And my housekeeper was paid by the job, not hourly. If you knew anything at all, you’d know these people are your family. They become your family.

They take care of your house and animals when you’re away.

But carry on with your sorry life. I bet you go through the junk that people take to the dump and bring that stuff home. I’ve known people like you.

Are you trying to be a troll in this thread? It doesn’t appear you are totally fine with people hiring a housekeeper as you have made 24 posts itt claiming otherwise. Are you married with kids?

question for lawyer types: is it lawful or illegal to write up and enforce a work contract with some unusual consequences (such as say say butt paddling) for being late?

I’m just responding to people coming at me. I am fine with it but as I mentioned in a different post, I will say it’s a waste of money.
I am married with a kid. I could see someone that has multiple kids being busy with kids activities and not care to do the cleaning. That’s the case with my brother as they have 4 kids and he isn’t home much. He has the money to do so, so he does. Which again fine with as it’s not my money. But,I still give him crap though and question the “cleaning” as my house is much cleaner.

lol. That’s not what you posted originally

Just trolling I guess.

I have no use for trolls that don’t have real life experience.

Carry on.

I think you were the one on the offensive first. In any event, we don’t have one currently, or a pool/lawn/snow service. Cancelled during a home renovation and haven’t started it back up. I like doing the lawn and pool. I hate shoveling but anymore it is infrequent, knock on wood.
