Weather seems to be cooperating also.

Any word if the athletic departments thinks they could hit 40,000? Man I hope so!! That would be a serious number.

They've said all along that normal walkups for a wrestling meet are like 4,000 (?) (I'm not going to look up the old posts), and that is for a 10k meet. If the same percentage holds true, they are looking at more like 8,000 in walkups, making 40,000 feasible.

I'm not sure I agree with that, as the normal walkups likely jumped on board immediately in order to get in the first 15,000 and the best seats, but there will definitely be walkups. From people already planning to walk up to those who will be talked in to it by others at their tailgate, there will be walkups. Ticket office, apparently, sent out an email encouraging people to buy online because the lines at Kinnick might be long, which is a great sign.

I think they just break 40k, which is insanely impressive and exciting. See you there. Talk all your fellow tailgaters in to going as well, there really won't be a bad seat and many will be watching it on the screens anyways. If you/they haven't been to a meet before, it is unlike most others in that Iowa fans are incredibly knowledgeable about the rules and get very, very loud. By far the loudest event I've ever been to was a wrestling meet in Carver. Even a 3/4 full Kinnick won't rival that, but it will get intense.

I have been going to Iowa Football games since 1958. I have been going to Iowa basketball games since 1962. I have never attended a Iowa wrestling meet. Saturday will be my first(along with 3 other first timers) and I have not yet bought our tickets and will be walk-ups. Why not?

Much like soybean my group of friends and I have not bought tickets for wrestling yet and plan to go. I think many more will be sold.

When I ordered mine on the phone today, they said cash only for tickets on Saturday. Just a heads up.

THIS..... Is why I love Hawkeye fans! wrestling is the best sport in my opinion, and I love it that NEW fans will give it a shot. You will not be disappointed. Go Hawks!

Throw in another 10k-15k for the basketball games Friday and you have one helluva weekend.

4 of us are coming and we have no tickets yet. I know we will get the print at home version to avoid the lines.

Student tickets are free. Just need to be printed. Is that number including student tickets? Also, wonder how many students will download tickets 10mins before the game.

I don't know why it took me so long, but I started attending wrestling only 6 or 7 years ago. I encourage everyone to attend at least one meet.

Such an exciting sport! And those kids are so dedicated, you've got to appreciate that.

Man vs. man in one of its purest forms.

That's weird. It's 2015. Unless you're an old person who still writes checks at the grocery store you don't pay for everything with cash.
