Over reaction or clarity?

Some are saying the Iowa fan base is over reacting on the current results. I actually wonder if it's bringing clarity. If we are honest with ourselves, last year Lady Luck was on our side. Our fan base (including me) became intoxicated by the wins and did not consider how close some were and how the ball bounced our way. Right now, I think Nebraska is falling into the trance we were in last year. I hear them talking being 5-0 and not considering several games were not decided until the fourth quarter. I digress...

Now us fans are pi**ed, but our eyes are wide open. We see clearly what Kirk has been - every 5 years or so, everything will come together and we will have a top 10 team. In between is typically average performance. What is frustrating is that we realize now that we are likely going into a 3-4 year stretch of mediocre football. And our coach has ever increasingly less accountability.

Our eyes are open and what we see is not encouraging.

Well put and it's clear that Iowa needs a staff that can maximize its resources. Iowa is one innovative and aggressive coach away from being a real player.
