Owner of gold Tesla Cybertruck says he is target of threats, harassment

LOL

WORCESTER, Mass. (WBZ) – The owner of a gold Tesla Cybertruck in Massachusetts said he has been experiencing bullying and threats over his vehicle choice.

Dr. Kumait Jaroje said he found a profane sticker plastered on the back of his Cybertruck last week. The words are too derogatory to repeat.

Jaroje said he is now nervous about his safety as well as the safety of his children. He said his wife was horrified at the sticker.

“She was horrified. She was like crying, screaming out of her throat, ‘Don’t ever drive that cyber truck anymore,’” Jaroje said.

When he posted about what happened on social media, Jaroje said instead of sympathy and concern, even more hateful messages flooded his comments.

He says the harassment over his Cybertruck started after Tesla CEO Elon Musk endorsed President Donald Trump. Musk is now the head of the new Department of Government Efficiency.

Jaroje is also worried about other drivers on the road trying to cause a collision.

“Somebody tried to cut me off while I’m driving with my kids, and three guys came out of the car. And just pointed the middle finger and start screaming at me,” he said.

The Cybertruck’s unique gold color serves as a walking billboard for Jaroje’s medical spa that he built from the ground up three years ago.

“It’s a fancy, funky car that I think attracts a lot of attention,” he said.

As a Syrian immigrant, Jaroje said he is proud of following his dreams.

“I pursued my dream, you know, and now I’m enjoying the free speech, but with this taking a different turn, that made me very concerned,” he said.

Due to the harassment, Jaroje said he tried to trade in the Cybertruck, but with no luck.

He sent Tesla a photo of the hateful sticker that someone put on his vehicle, but a representative said Tesla is not accepting Cybertruck trade-ins at the moment.

Jaroje said he hopes the community will set aside judgment and be open to differences in opinion.

“If you disagree, don’t retaliate. Don’t be violent. Don’t try to hurt your neighbor, you know, we’re all human,” he said.
I'm surprised the guy can still drive after the leopard ate his face.

Oh My God Omg GIF
That's because of how awesome and valuable it is. Elon's design brilliance shines thru. Perhaps he could make it "more pointy" to drive up value.

I believe she screamed out of her throat.

I mean, it's pretty much the only place you can scream out of unless you have a gaping speaking asshole like @Ferentz_Fan
Maybe just maybe that’s what he said because he’s a Syrian immigrant. Most of the time, foreign individuals struggle a bit with the English language.
Don’t hate on foreigners just trying to better themselves.

As do most, I think Tesla is a shitty company that makes a shitty product and you'd have to be an idiot to buy one - but I don't see how anyone could condone this behavior - if it actually happened.

Condoning it and laughing at the guy freaking out about people being mean to him are pretty different.

As I’ve said, my feelings on this issue follow Vince Vega’s - you just don’t f—k with another man’s vehicle.

Oh I'm definitely laughing. Put some black wings on it somewhere and you might find a numpty here to buy it.

Threatened or vandalized? Absolutely not .

Laughed at mercilessly for buying that gaudy piece of crap? Absolutely yes.

He "enhanced" the gaudiness with the shiny gold wrap.

The sun was probably reflecting off that thing and blinding other drivers, leading to the confrontation with the guys who cut him off and flipped him off.

Which leads me to another thought: most state laws regulate how "reflective" car window tint can be. You can't have mirrored tint that blinds other drivers.

Wrap? Not sure if there are any laws about that.

I’ve driven a Tesla for nearly 10 years. Not going back to ICE vehicles. Choosing (or not choosing) a product based on the politics of a people involved is very silly. It was silly when MAGA cancelled Bud Light, Dixie Chicks and many more and it is silly if Dems cancel Tesla.

Now cancelling the Cybertruck because it looks like Elon without a shirt on and is unusable for many truck type things…that is a legit reason to not buy a product.

If you’re trying to make us apologize for being anti-Nazi, it’s not going to happen. I hate Nazis, I am comfortable with that stance and I’m comfortable announcing it.

It’s more shocking that anybody would be accepting of it.
You don’t really understand what a nazi is.

I’m with the lefty crowd here on this one. Dude deserved it. People who drive electric cars and their “saving the planet” schtick are complete losers.
