P.S. Chittum is a Hawkeye. . . . . .

Minnesota have any other decent commits that TnT could take??

Without GS to carry the load, how in hell does Eggum keep his job?

To me...it was surprising CC picked them in the first place.

Bottom line is this is the kind of thing we need to keep up with the Joneses. Cody has been rated top in his class, is a top 5 overall at worst and solidifies either 149 or 157 turning what was 2 question marks into 1. Let's get Sealy and make it 3 southern boys. I definitely have noticed a positive trend in the type of athlete and person they have been targeting, lots of kids serious about and willing to put in the work to be top end.

So have have they figured out if he’ll be on the team this year or next? Would like to see him wrestle this year.
His pace is going to break some guys.
where’s he from? I keep seeing deeo south?

Awesome news, he skits well at either 149 or 157 depending on what his body does over the next year. I think 149, but we’ll see.

He said in the Hawk Central article he is going to train with the HWC for a year and then enroll in the fall of 2023.

i'm an old guy and i want to see results now, but i think the long run is the way to go.Nate j.,ayala, shrive -lower weights, chitt, rathjen and block- lower middle weights, riggins, pk, gabe-next group and keuter franklin, and hill uppers. Pretty good base. Kennedy will be a damm fine leader for this group, i just think a little time is needed.Get the new facility up and iowa may be the place to be before we know it.

2023 we are looking at
125 ayala
133 schreiver
141 woods
149 rathjen
157 chittum
165 Kennedy
174 brands
184 assad
197 Franklin
Hwt cass

I think Chittum goes 49 so I am guessing it's him and Rathjen Also, Riggins has consistently wrestled 160 all year which tells me the the cut isn't that bad. Could very well see him compete for 57 this year and next.

Yeah he’s a helluva athlete. Would love to see him excel at both but it will take nothing short of complete dedication to do such a feat. Amazing if he can manage both. Also of note I saw Leighton Jones(‘23 OL recruit) is at number 85 in the top 100.
Dedication and luck to stay healthy playing d1 football in big ten and d1 wrestling back to back.

I’d be surprised if Kueter started right away in football as we’re really deep at LB and DL depending on where they see him….. but they’ll probably want to beef him up….. be amazing to me if he ever wrestles 197 in college if he’s serious about football

then when he is playing starter minutes going straight from the beating a body takes in a BIG football season straight into a BIG wrestling season especially cutting weight would require super powers

Id gladly be wrong believe me….. kid’s an impressive dude

He'll be a HWY.

Remember when ISU fans thought they were going beat Iowa in a few years after Storr, Gomez, Gremmel, Colbray, and Parker all won Fargo the same year?

I’ll bet anything Block, Jesuroga, Riggins, Chittum, and Hill have better future results then those guys.

So, you’re saying we should temper our expectations?

Now they're counting on Lee not wrestling in December and the true freshman at 141 beating Woods.

The off season raises their hopes...the actual season arrives...and reality sets in.

Ladies and gentlemen...what it means being an ISU fan.

Can someone explain to me the rules regarding competition for newbies/freshmen in terms of how many matches they could participate in and not use a year of eligibility?

TIA. And can someone like Ayala wrestle under those rules next season?

I think the new rules are only for 1st year wrestlers. They can wrestle attached before Jan and up to 5 events before burning a year of eligibility, but cannot compete unattached before Jan.

That is how I understood it, but could be wrong.

I was at Nationals one year…. Think it was Stars senior year and the ISU section was right across the aisle from the Iowa section

It was pretty comical how we booed each others wrestlers and hollered across the aisle at each other…..

Anyway Iowa had a break in wrestlers so a bunch of us ran to the pisser and they had one of those circular sinks and we were shoulder to shoulder washing our hands and some guy pipes up “We’re all from Iowa…. I don’t get why both fan bases can’t support each other when we’re not wrestling each other?”

Everything got quiet and I said “ **** Iowa State” and everyone in that room started yelling **** State😂😂😂 I still laugh telling the story…..guess you had to be there

2010, in Omaha, and a badly injured Star is wrestling in the consis against a guy from North Carolina and an ISU fan in the next aisle over yells "Cmon guy in blue uniform, beat Iowa". I looked at him, shook my head, and said to myself..."Yep, DAF".

True story.

I figured there’d be someone in here that was there too…. We were in the same section then 😂
