PD3 vs Moore or Nickal?

I didn't tell that to myself; The Johns Hopkins University did (play him in chess :) ). PD3 hasn't been pinned since he was in 9th grade...in the National Prep semis vs a guy you might have heard of...Mario Mason, a senior and #1 ranked high schooler in the nation...so don't think for a NY minute that Nickal is pinning PD3...that shietttt just isn't happening, pal. BTW, did you see who pinned whom in the PD3 vs Quentin Wright match? I have him beating either one...Moore or Nickal.

p.s. Did you see Nickal backout upstairs at the Open? When fresh, he'll break string bean in half. :)

Dude needs to keep it clean, get those grades, and get out on the mat and prove it. That’s how respect is earned.

Excellent influence. Interesting friendship.
You are 100% right on both. I admit I was not completely on board with Pat becoming a Hawkeye at first. Have had a couple of very good conversations with him in the last few weeks and now see why TNT made their decision. Pat is personable, likable, and IMO he is going to be a major plus for the team and do what he needs to for himself.
Question about Midlands...

Say he gets all his credits done at the end of this semester, when is he actually allowed to officially join the team?

2nd part, if that date happens to be 2018, then I'd assume he will NOT participating at Midlands since it's an invitation tournament, right? I can't see Midlands inviting him just because he's expected to be on the roster at a future date. Now, if he's officially able to join the team prior to Midlands, then this is all moot.

I think the only thing stopping him from joining the team is his degree & possibly being admitted to grad school.

Saw Pat hanging with Nathan Burak at the Rider meet. If I had to choose a mentor for Pat, I couldn't think of a better one than Nathan. Pat's in excellent hands with him and the rest of the HWC crew. That's a whole lot of positive influence. I'm getting to the point where I'd be surprised if things didn't work out for Pat and the Hawks in the spring, and I'm thinking he'd be a great asset to the HWC after this season.
I hope you are correct WWDM there are a lot of people that have checkered past and deserve second third or more chances to correct their pasts. I am glad that Nathan is mentoring him I’m sure the other guys at HWC are as well. I will be rooting for him just like any other Hawk

Anyone can register for Midlands. If necessary, he'll go unattached as he did, along with Destin McCauley, a few years ago when Manning decided not to go.

Do you think he's learning things from Burak that he couldn't learn from PD2?

I want to see him throw that Beaker looking Nickal on his head.

Bump- when is the first day that could he wrestle part of the team?

Because he committed to that BEFORE he verballed to Iowa. After verballing, he had higher ups to answer to. No 'backing out'. Next question?

Thanks for your response. Ok here is a another one for you.

Why the excuses when he takes a loss? Would it not be better to just be quiet and give his opponent some credit, get in better shape, and improve his game? Let his actions do the talking and actually back it up.

Anyway I wish him good health and hope to see him at his best come March at whatever is the best weight for Iowa. Personally I want to see him and Nickal in the finals.

Get them 22 hrs done first.

If Spencer goes, then Warner goes, then PD3 @ 84.

As I type this out I realize if neither go, I'd still like to see PD3 @ 84 because I liked what I saw out if Wilke last night.

You might have liked what you saw out of Wilcke last week, but if last night was any indication I can honestly say that there's a good chance we will get zero points from him at NCAAs. I'm going to need to see something against quality opponents before I jump on that bandwagon as going into OT against an unranked wrestler was not what I was hoping for...

Bowman or Wilke? & PD3 at weight or wrestling up a weight? Everyone on the team wrestled poorly on Friday, save for Stoll. I'll still take Wilke everyday of the week with an outside chance of scoring points, with PD3 at his natural weight.

Whether Bo goes upper body or not, I would expect an entertaining match if it happens. Bo is a stud and I expect PD3 will be when he returns to the mat. MyMar looks huge and ready to go and Moore will likely be fine and that'd be good match as well. As wrestling fans, whatever happens, we all win if PD3 gets back on the mat and is competing (184 or 197). Here's hoping it occurs (and he beats the buckeye but not the nittany lion. hah)

Back in March at NCAA, Cash seemed to have a lot of matches on the mat directly in front of me and I was in row 4 or 5 of the lower bowl. I had a great view of his matches. I came away thinking that the ONLY wrestler that took fewer shots than Cash at the Tournament.............was the guy he happened to be wrestling at the time.

This past Friday night I kept waiting and waiting for him to use his duckunder. It's awesome! Finally.............in Overtime he went to it for the Win. Why not try it during the match?
