Penn State honoring Paterno again...It never ends there

Should we expect anything different from these sick f**ks?

They have the attitude that "we're right and the rest of the world are the eff'ed up ones."

Who in their administration is pushing this stuff, and why are people higher up allowing this?

Guys, Penn State and Joe Pa are the real victims in this whole thing. Just ask them:

September 1, 2016 ---- Penn State President Eric Barron today announced that the university will commemorate the 50th anniversary of Joe Paterno’s first game as Penn State head coach during the Temple football game on September 17, 2016. This represents the university's tacit admission that the "conclusions" of the Freeh Report were wrong. However, we will accept this recognition of Joe on September 17 as only the first of many steps necessary to repair the needless damage caused by the unwarranted condemnation of Joe and the entire Penn State community. The university must explicitly repudiate Freeh's bogus "conclusions," which were improperly influenced by outside forces acting against Penn State's interests, including the NCAA and the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General. The university must publicly state that Paterno handled the report that was made to him in precisely the manner required by the university, and apologize to the Paterno family. We also encourage Penn State to join the Paterno family in their action against the NCAA, which sought to "leverage" the Freeh Report to extort the university. Finally, the university must apologize to the entire Penn State community for allowing Freeh to smear our entire culture with his outrageous statements about our priorities. Penn State must take these steps to begin to repair the damage done.

While he is their football history, and he did alot of great things in his life he turned his back on those who needed him most. He could have had that piece of fecal matter thrown out years ago sparing who knows how many kids the torment of that creep.

He wasnt the perpetrator but he turned a blind eye to those who needed him most. I dont know any father who would have done those things. I just wonder if his guilt worsened his health after retiring. He passed away like 8 weeks after this. Without football he had nothing else to do but watch the news and think about what he didnt do.

I dont wish any soul pain and suffering so I hope he asked for forgiveness and recieved it.

I should know better than to read that, but its fascinating in a morbid sort of way.

They really need to be out of our conference. I know Delaney is a TV whore, but is it really worth some TV sets in PA?

I was actually thinking of going to that game. No way. They also hate the Big 10 it seems.

Just switch them with Pitt if the viewers in Pennsylvania matter so much.

"I've got a football team to coach, I can't worry about that stuff." (Joe Paterno to an alleged Sandusky victim in 1976)

I had the lowest of expectations of these people already and the McAndrew post above made a new low. Simply unreal.

Btw- I too was considering going to the game but all this has made it impossible for me to go out there. I have never made the trip there and pretty sure I never will..

I went to our game there in 2011, right before the whole storm brewed. Its a strange place. Its isolated far more than Iowa City or any other Big 10 school is. I don't see myself going there again either.

Just for fun, knowing I'll be banned over there in 3..2..1..., I posted the following in that thread:

"The "great" legendary Joe Paterno knew a man was having his way with little boys and did nothing. And you guys celebrate him? Wow. Delusion at its finest."

I am banned there as well. 'Rules Violation'

I'll probably get banned for liking it. Nothing lost.

Looking at the timeline, how did I never hear of Sandusky's autobiography disgustingly titled, "Touched: The Jerry Sandusky Story."

You were actually mild compared to the post that got me banned over a couple of years ago. That is one deranged group.

I would take this.

As much as the Nittany kittens bitch about the B1G having a conspiracy against them and games are rigged and how bad they hate it here, I would love to see a swap with Pitt

Will never happen but wish it would

It's a sad situation when you hold a football coach in such high esteem, that you ignore the raping of children for 40 years.

Loved the response. Again, to me, it's more about what happened to PSU than Joe.

Penn State did not knowingly allow a pedophile to sodomize and fellate young boys and turn a blind eye to it in the name of protecting football. Pure and utter drama created by the OAG, further supported by Freeh and the NCAA.

Jerry Sandusky used his position as the PSU DC to attract support and financing for his own personal pedo farm. If he wasn't associated with PSU, he never gets an organization like The Second Mile up and running. He also doesn't avoid scrutiny for 4 decades. Police/people would have taken any allegation against him much more seriously. Paterno and the rest of the see no evil crowd at PSU should have known that.
They could have done the right thing and seen that a predator was behind bars. They may have taken a few hits to the program and their reputation but that's easy to dismiss when you've done that right thing.
I'm not buying the "Paterno/PSU had nothing to do with it" horse hockey.

I read the whole thread and didn't see a single anti-JoePa post. Didn't see any in other threads either. That's some serious censorship.
