Quick reaction, but Tony needs a change of pace, IMO. He’s been struggling to the point of forcing.
Ah the "Abercrombie and Fitch" lineup...Dix and Sandy at the 1 and 2 spot, Connor at 3, Murray at the 4, Filip at the 5 is clearly our best lineup that should be getting the lion share of the minutes.
Dix totally changed that game. Ulis and Perkins are really struggling.

Dix really looks the part.

don't forget those dix shots!Quick reaction, but Tony needs a change of pace, IMO. He’s been struggling to the point of forcing.
Yes,for a freshman,he is very poised and plays within himself. Perkins forces shots. What is frustrating is athletism gets him easy open shots, But he just seems to throw the ball up. Did Dix have any TOs?Dic looked really strong with the ball, passed well and shot well.
I couldn’t agree more but Michigan didn’t press us so it was so much easier to get the offense started. And if I’m not mistaken he hit 2 3’s so they had to guard him.Dix is not a pg any more than Perkins is.

At least with Sandfort, he was still involved when he was struggling. He was cheering on his teammates and being a team player. I was really disappointed watching Perkins and ulis on the bench pouting they weren’t in the game.Perkins is forcing things and is really struggling right now. No question.
Keep in mind Sandfort was on the struggle bus not too long ago. Perkins just needs to relax and let the game come to him. He is a great athlete, and Iowa needs him on the court.
When you run Fran's motion offense, and your big guys are good passers, then it is less important to have that pure point guard.Dix is not a pg any more than Perkins is.
Careful the super fans will come after you with posts like this. They may even accuse you of causing the anxiety with posts like this.Hate to bring this up but Iowa is 3-0 w/o PMac. His defense and lack of rebounding hurt the team when he was playing. Hope he comes back with more energy on the defensive end of the court as well as going after both offensive and defensive rebounds more than he was doing.
Maybe it’s his time. Hope he’s ready for a bigger role. The team got deeper today. Options are good.Mulvey looks more confident out there. Gave some good minutes tonight. Encouraging
Rarely do you see Dix that's PG.Dix is not a pg any more than Perkins is.
I agree. One thing I'll give Fran credit for is games like tonight he's not afraid to sit certain guys who start and go with the hot hand down the stretch. I'm still in favor of Perkins starting but right now he's in an offensive slump. Hopefully like Sandfort get one game to get him going again. But I do love the confidence and composure Dix played with tonight. 2nd half he and connor really took care of the ball. Our best lineup, TODAY.
Always get a bump after a win. If Dix stumbles in his next game, peeps will call for him to sit.
Getting Perk right is what we really need. He rebounds, shoots and defends well when he’s right. And he’s fearless.
I totally agree with this, We'll probably get ripped but PMac's lack of defense and rebounding really hurts the team. He needs to pick it up...Players struggle as we have seen with Payton so there is a long way to go this season for Perk and Uhlis to get their games turned around.

I get your point and agree to some extent, but the difference is Dix doesn’t turn the ball over and can hit the three. Perkins is a turnover machine of late. Dix fits into the position less basketball profile. Play him with Connor and Kris and Sandfort and you don’t really need “a” point guard. Everyone can handle the ball.Dix is not a pg any more than Perkins is.
Y’all like to remember PMacs worst games but you forgot how well he can play. Against Wisconsin he almost single hamdidly won the game. Pat’s biggest problem is consistency.I totally agree with this, We'll probably get ripped but PMac's lack of defense and rebounding really hurts the team. He needs to pick it up...
I agree and especially if KM gets stronger with the ballI get your point and agree to some extent, but the difference is Dix doesn’t turn the ball over and can hit the three. Think the ball is moving better without him. PMac and Perkins are 2 of our guys who tend to over dribble and kept the ball from moving side to side. Granted when on they can be very effective driving the ball but with Sandfort shooting like he is now and playing in his place along with Connor our offense has been more effective these last 3 games.I totally agree with this, We'll probably get ripped but PMac's lack of defense and rebounding really hurts the team. He needs to pick it up...
No but at least he can shoot, and doesn’t pout and let his defense affect his game tooDix is not a pg any more than Perkins is.
100%Y’all like to remember PMacs worst games but you forgot how well he can play. Against Wisconsin he almost single hamdidly won the game. Pat’s biggest problem is consistency.
Or just stay where he's at.I totally agree with this, We'll probably get ripped but PMac's lack of defense and rebounding really hurts the team. He needs to pick it up...
Id say pat's biggest problem is appearing fatigued quickly which has been discussed on here for a few years and I would think goes hand in hand with the inconsistency as you mentioned. I thought it was from not having a thyroid and maybe the toll his cancer treatments took on him but if he was battling insomnia that explains a ton.Y’all like to remember PMacs worst games but you forgot how well he can play. ^^^ That is some solid analysis... ^^^. It's one of the reasons I thought he was better suited coming off the bench and playing a couple 4-5 minute spurts per half. It will be interesting to see what his role is when/if he comes back. I also think there is a rally around Pat factor, they are just playing harder the last few games
