will be glad when he is gone. He is detrimental to this team. Absolutely sucks on ball handling and defense. No hustle or effort. But oh look at me flop all over the place.

I actually thought he made a few effort plays today. Went to the floor a couple times. Definitely not the Jok that played before the injury.

He's very weak with the ball in his hands. It really shows itself at the end of games. Fran needs to coach better at the end of games. Peter going one on one off the dribble is very poor execution of the offense at the end of games for Iowa. But let's be honest, what's new there?

No jok is a cancer to this team. he needs to sit if fran had any balls.
And you know absolutely nothing about the game. You need to just watch what is being done to jok off the ball. However, you like others who don't understand the game only watch what is hapening with the ball. Jok should have been at the foul line another 8-9 times today. But, hey, it esy to criticize sitting at home in your easy chair.

I agree Jok thinks he is a star and he is only above average at best except for shooting. His ball handling is atrocious and he has very low BBall IQ. Better team with him out. IMO

You are correct I know nothing about basketball started on a state tournament in 1970. I do know hustle and team play is not his strong suit and will stand by what I said he is a cancer. this team has no mental toughness.

I said last summer that Jok wasn't going to be a great fit for a bunch of freshman.

He was a much better fit with the previous group.

His bball IQ is fine, but when he tries too much with the dribble he's definitely playing away from his strengths.

Iowa still has not figured out how to score against defenses intent on limiting freedom of movement. Fran talks frequently about moving and cutting sharper, but this is not a strength for Jok. Moss cuts harder, and is just a bigger, stronger, better athlete as well. I think that is partly why they looked better when Jok was out.

Overall I feel Iowa suffers from Fran having too long of a leash for his "star" players. This breeds bad culture in the program, lack of accountability. The moment Jok commits an unforced turnover he should sit. Or if he is lazy in any way on either end of the floor. And of course same holds true of everyone else, but absolutely true of a veteran "star" -- no exceptions. If a freshman overdribbles into a turnover maybe don't yank him right away, one warning. But Jok, a senior multi-year starter? Definitely. He's supposed to know better.

So Jok is getting fouled every game and it's just not getting called? That's your superior knowledge of basketball? Not saying I agree with sadiehawkins but at least make a more compelling argument.

anyone who has watched games all year can see that pre-injury Jok and post-injury Jok are different players.
Agree and that's in part why I think the coaching has been horrible. You can't let Jok go one on one at the end of games off the bounce. This to me is another problem with Fran just letting guys play and having so much freedom. Injured or not Jok's turnover at the end of the game is inexcusable as a senior or star player of this team. You've got to value the ball there and you can't be looking for a foul.

I believe the largest problem is that the rest of the team see's Jok as the main option when he is in the game. He gets most of the screens and the other players damper their full potential.

I am surprised when some of analysts say he is a lock for the NBA. He is a natural shooter, but lacks NBA skills in all other areas.

I believe JB plays much better without Jok on the floor.

I like Jok too but his ball handling is bad and a lot of the time he passes to where his teammate should be versus passing to his teammate

Result Turnover

It's no coincidence that IA played some it's best ball as a team when Jok was hurt.

Look, I think Pete made some very bad decisions today. Am I ready to throw him under the bus? No effin' way!

Nobody has mentioned that Iowa would be missing their best or 2nd best rebounder if he didn't play. Rebounding is a big problem with this group right now, and would be horrible without him.

Peter does what Peter can. Just because he has a smile doesn't mean that he is not trying. I am proud of our team, and they gave it their all. I watched the entirety of the Nebraska and Ohio State game later and there was no defense played whatsoever in that entire game. Our kids worked their tails off; the shots didn't fall.

I'm glad that Pete is a Hawk,... but we will be a better "team" without him, next year.....

My problem with jok is that in crucial times of the game he continues to lose the ball and appears to not be that concerned about it.

Let' see, you know hustle: Peter is first in scoring, second in rebounding, second in assists, and in the top three in steals. No hustle...he has made passes quite often when he had the shot.....the cancer here isn't Jok.

Jok is asked to create his own scoring option off the dribble late in close games, and that's a terrible coaching decision. He takes a lot of heat for losing the ball in those situations. We should be pointing a finger at Fran if you want to be honest, but few seem to want to be honest. I'm as excited as everybody else for this current group of freshman, but if it's the same old crap when they are juniors, we will know all we need to know about Fran.

Team chemistry will be miles better next season! Take that to the bank folks....not bashing on anyone but I agree Jok with a freshman group is just not working chemistry wise. Looks like at times they get lost watching jok . Play was much better during his absence . That's not debatable

What has happened to Jok is the same that happened to Uthoff and Dev Marble.

All excelled as spot-up shooters and as go-to players early in the season when the yearly "changes in rules emphases" were fresh in referees' minds. Once the B1G season starts and refs start giving in to the uber-physical, Izzo-developed "they can't possibly call EVERY foul" mentality, 75% of their effectiveness was stripped away and we didn't have any other physical go-to players to divert plays to.

Having either a competent distributing PG or large-bodied post presence with offensive skills would've helped any of the three much more, IMO. I believe the team will have at least one of each over the next few seasons.

The key to everything is, again, not having a pg. Bohannon is a nice piece but hes not a pg.

Jok can't create offense off the dribble consistently or efficiently but thats one of the only options.

Iowa would probably have 4-5 wins total without Jok.

Thats not even remotely accurate.

It would be more like 10 or 11 wins.

Probably don't beat ISU, UM and definitely not Purdue. Other than that it wouldn't be much different, we can beat bad teams with out Jok and most of his best games we haven't won.

Also the rest of the team would have progressed allot more without him, which is not his fault, but clearly the two best games they have played as a team were when he was out.

He has taken 152 more shots than anyone on the team and he is only 16 minutes behind the leader in TOTAL minutes played. With considering his time off, and the fact that this is a young, terrible rebounding team, his non-scoring stats are solely product of being on the floor.

I have enjoyed watching Peter shooting the ball much of this year. However, he is far from a complete player and I will be glad to see a team next year without a so called superstar. Hopefully they will play team basketball.
If our young guys don't get significantly better over the next 2 years it will be time for a coaching change. They have talent but they need coached up on free throw shooting, defense, and rebounding to name a few areas to improve.
