Pinstripe Bowl trash talk

Hey Joe, thanks for stopping by. You're seeing our playful attempt at trash talk. I can't imagine anyone on here could come up with a reason to actually hate on you guys, and you're actually one of my favorite teams.....the week each season when you play Notre Dame. You could say the enthusiasm for this game is about as high as the temperatures are expected to be for it. FWIW, here's a very brief capsule about our team, which others here can correct as they see fit.

QB: Soph who can look brilliant or not be within 10 yards of a receiver. Hard to bring down.
RB's: solid group. if we can run decent on you, we win. Wadley can make people look really, really silly.
WR's: enigma. have trouble getting separation and can either make spectacular catches or let the ball bounce off their facemask. Literally.
TE's: very good and deep group. most here would agree that they should've been utilized more
OL: anyone's guess from day to day
DL: good group but struggle to get pressure on QB's mainly because of our scheme and the fact our DC changes things up once every season
LB's: 1 All-american, 1 very solid, 1 cringe-worthy. Again due to DC, they are at times exploited in covering TE's and WR's.
DB's: 1 All-american, and the rest depend on the day
special teams: we lead the nation in fair catches and likely have set a record for all-time, and i struggle to remember a kick-off returned beyond the 50. Very solid kicker but anyone reading this can punt better than our current crop. Seriously. I'm not kidding, and others on here will back me up. we are laughably bad punting the football.

Tear me apart with corrections gang!

I think you pretty much nailed it.

Thanks for the response, your team sounds very similar to us.
QB- Wade a lefty who is more of a game manager than a great passer, can make some good throws , also prone to hold onto the ball too long.
RB- Dillon, as good a RB out of BC in a long , long time.
WR- Similar to yours, not much separation , but some decent speed, Florida kids.
TE- Same as yours, decent talent under utilized.
OL- Up until mid season, was a weakness, started to come around except during NC St. where a senior laden team had their way with our OL.
DL- Lost Landry who was projected as a first rounder, not certain if he will play. Not the most physical DL , but usually plays our scheme well.
LBs- Injuries , have sapped this group, plays the defensive scheme well.
DBs- Strongest group on defense, even though we lost a starter for the season.
Specials - Decent except for FG kicking, cringe worthy.

Hey guys, just stopped by to get your take on the game. If that is trash talk you got a long , long way to go.
I think you're missing the joke. No biggie. Welcome, though, it's good to have rational opposing fans around.

Thanks Daum, I was being sarcastic about the trash talk, lol... Hope we get to see a good game without any injuries and some decent weather for NYC. Been pretty cold in the northeast, lows tonight in the single digits. This will be my first bowl game, so hope it is a good one.

BC fan here. Hope it’s a good game. I can say we played penn st in 2014 pinstripe. It was fun! Maybe it will be better than you think!

Guess I missed the joke. Nevermind!

I think BC wins. Usually in Bowl games, the team that wants to be there wins over the team disappointed to be there.

No player on Iowa's team has won a bowl game in their career, so my guess (hope) is that they'll come out and play to win.

I am unaware whether the players on our side are disappointed to be there. I would think, as uno said, that they'd be itching to get the bowl trend in the right direction.

That's what I was thinking. It's maybe not the most easy trip to make as a fan, but for the team, I think it's a pretty damn cool bowl. This senior class has been able to take some nice trips - now go win one!

I would be interested to hear more about BC TEs. Iowa is outstanding in this department.

Yeah, but our punter is one HELL of a passer...check out his completion percentage if you don't believe me! :)

This is true ... but it’s the Iowa fans who don’t want to be there not the players ... Iowa will be all business since they are 0-5 in bowls last 5 times.

The only correction I would make is ISM's KO return vs. Nebraska. I would also say our OL is probably better than average most days.

I would be interested to hear more about BC TEs. Iowa is outstanding in this department.

Tom Sweeney is a tall rangy TE, who is 2nd on the team with receptions, had a tough start to the season not being on the same page as the QB. Think he was underutilized overall. His backup Garrison is very similar in size. Since BC is a run first offense, our TE's have to be decent blockers.
