I know this goes without saying, but the return of Linderbaum, Hankins, Shudak, and VanValkenburg has been huge for Iowa. I believe all were up in the air about returning, but ultimately, they decided to come back for another year. They have all been extremely important for different aspects of the team: Linderbaum for obvious reasons. Hankins has been an unbelievable coverage guy and a leader in the best defensive backfield in the country. Shudak for his kickoffs and almost unblemished kicking record (only 1 miss and that was beyond 50 yards). VanValkenburg for his play and probably more importantly for bringing back some experience to a very inexperienced defensive line.
