Players You Were Sad To See Go

In the Fran era there are only a couple I was happy to see go.

I'm not sure I'd consider someone a fan of the team if they are happy to see guys like Basabe, Marble, White, Gesell, Woody, Uthoff, Jbo, Garza, etc leave. So, I'm assuming the OP doesn't actually like Iowa basketball.

Yes, he was a "sniper".
Yes, was among 4 Tennessee players arrested for weapon charges and marijuana possession as a senior and was dismissed from the team. Played some professional basketball in Turkey and Israel.
As a freshmen at Iowa, he was some electric player...would have loved to see him stay at Iowa all four years. Wasn't meant to be...

His funding at Iowa got cut off correct?

I would have loved to see him stay out of trouble. He had skills but I doubt Alford could have kept him out of trouble at Iowa.

Sapp for his D. Gabe Olaseni cause he's Metumbo lite with the blocks.

Not a Fran recruit but to give respect to Bluder's crew MG and Doyle. MG was the GOAT and Doyle for her passion and refuse to lose style of play especially at the end of the game when she turned on "I got this" mode.

No one was sad to see Clemons go, just stop.

Ones for me that I remember being extra sad about(there is typically always one in each class) would be...

Kenny Arnold
BJ, Eddie and Roy
Andre Woolridge
Dean Oliver
Greg, Adam and Jeff
Aaron White
Uthoff
The great Garza

This pretty much proves my point. In 11 years of Fran there’s only been three players you were sad to see go. And actually I doubt if I really looked I would find any positive posts from you right after Uthoff or Whites last season ended.

You’re crazy - I’ve been sad to see 99% of Hawkeye hoopsters move on. Just think what an Aaron White, Anthony Clemons, and/or Gesell could have added to this years team.

Literally no one was sad that Gessel and Clemons were leaving. Stop with the revisionist history.

Based on your take the only point proven is that you don't know me.

How about you quit overlaying your pitiful jaded view over others. You have nothing but your own anger to prove Hans81 wasn't sincere in his/her post.

The Fran era has been covered already, so in my lifetime, here are some more that come to mind right away:

Andre Woolridge
Jess Settles
Acie Earl
Val Barnes
Ray Thompson
Jeff Moe
Horner, Brunner, Haluska

But nothing will top the sadness I felt when BJ Armstrong, Roy Marble, and Ed Horton walked off the court for the last time. Tough loss to NCST brought to an end the best era of Iowa hoops (of my lifetime).
