Please don't boo Cade or Harris on Senior Day

Booing something during the game...ok, I can see how that happens in the moment even if I don't like it. But when a young man comes out by himself for Senior Day, announced by name to meet his family...show a little class.
Yeah, I am not against booing for stupid shit during an actual game. But to boo a kid on senior day is completely different. Anyone who does that deserves an excruciatingly long and painful death—hyperbolically speaking of course. 😊

Just getting this out of the way now.

It won't help with recruiting to have dudes bitter towards the Iowa fanbase. Plus I'm not sure anyone outside of that locker room will ever know the truth, no matter what KF says in pressers.

I know it was a bad look on their part.
Booing would be bush league and we should never boo one of our players who is trying his best. I cant think of a player who has not tried their best. I know we have had a few players who were not top caliber over the years but they were probably the best we had at the time at that position.

He was injured most of season and played through it. He needs the time off to heal so he can be 100% for NFL tryouts. The only way he gets to 100% is doing what he is doing. Boy, isnt that selfish of him that he won't play so you can get your jollies.
🙄. Did they ever think about putting that information out there? You act like that information is well known and old news.

I've never booed the Hawks and never will. But I do think that healthy players opting out of games, including bowl games, is shameful. I know that many say that it's a justifiable "business decision". I firmly believe its the wrong thing to do to your teammates.
They are professionals now. Harris has a professional career ahead of him. Risking millions of dollars isn’t worth playing meaningless games and the cheez it bowl.

Everyone in this thread would do the exact same thing if they were blessed enough to be in that situation. This may be his one and only chance to secure generational wealth. Good for him.

No one booed Petras, so we have no reason to believe anyone will boo Cade.
I wouldn't condone booing Cade, but I don't think it's an apples to apples sort of thing with those two players. Not if the past week was any indication.

You seriously have to tell your fan base this?

Wow 😯

Sorry my mistake

You wish.....

There’s a definite distinction between Harris and Cade in this scenario.
Is Cade to blame for the two serious knee injuries and a torn quad, in his last three years? Is it not likely that his "failure" as you called is in large part due to these injuries, and not some devious plan to bilk Iowa for money not knowing of these injuries before hand. Can you really not see past your discontent to cut the guy some slack for all his efforts to return to the field? Do you imagine he's thrilled that he made a few bucks at Iowa compared to the fact that his lifelong dream of being an NFL player is now only a distant memory. Are fan's really that lacking of compassion for a guy that most likely did everything he could given the cards dealt him? Truly sad days we live in....

It is out there. Reported by several guys who cover Iowa, and Kirk talked about it I believe in yesterdays presser...

Forgot to read the book of etiquette when it comes to sending off young men that got a free education at a top notch University along with NIL money. I had to pay for all my books and classes, so I couldn't afford that edition. Please enlighten us on how to clap and hand hold these guys.

They're big boys and will hopefully live long and great lives. If people need a reminder to not act like clowns then it's too far gone anyhow. Toga party at Cade's house Saturday night!!!!

Cade was never even close to being an NFL quarterback. Playing with the best offensive line in college football (at Michigan) with two all American running backs, will make just about everyone look good.

Agree! These kids work hard and deserve the appreciation of the fans.

Maybe you should actually read these posts before commenting. Where did I say he'd actually play in the league? I said "it was his life long dream" To that end he did the best he could to return after three serious leg injuries. I don't see why that something he should be ridiculed about.

If you don’t think Cade single handedly lost the Iowa State game, I got nothing for ya. That’s like saying Brian Ferentz was a great offensive coordinator because we won ten games in his last season.
Single handedly lost the game is your comment along with your buddy Hawkstate1. Is that your stance? So were talking about lost the game, and your saying his play was the single reason we lost. Do you actually watch games? Countless plays make SOME difference in winning or losing. This was a ONE point loss, so lets look at that. Did the play in the endzone where ISU scored their first TD matter? So TJ Hall had excellent position, inside the WR. He has the ball in BOTH hands for the interception, and the WR rips in out of his hands for their first score of the game. This was every bit as big a play in the game as that interception Cade threw. Does ISU win the game if Hall holds on to that ball for a touchback, and Iowa takes over on the 20yd line. Score still Iowa 13 ISU 0. I think not. If you go back and looked over the entire came I'm sure you could find lots of singular plays that made a difference in a one point loss. Did Cade play well? No. Is the play of one player ever the only reason for a loss in a close game like that one? Absolutely not. If you can't see that, then "I got nothing for ya" either....

So you know him?!? And he’s actually told you that?!? I’m sure Spencer Petras and Alex Padilla and Deacon Hill all had lifelong dreams of doing that too according to your logic. So maybe we should just bash on Brian Ferentz for crushing all these dreams instead?!?

Yea. Cade lost the game. Didn’t even read whatever monologue you tried to convince people otherwise. Come up with another thesis.

Exactly what I would expect. Don't have a clue what your talking about, so you deflect instead of admitting how wrong your statement was. TJ Hall makes that interception in the endzone he had in both hands, and we win that game. Is he then the sole reason we lost? Clueless.....

Again. Didn’t read whatever you posted. Ignorance of you is bliss! 😊

Sorry, forgot it was the team that consistently overthrew wide open receivers, threw to the other team, bumbled and fumbled. Yes, single handedly describes his ineptitude and incompetence.
Read post #68 so I don't have to type it again. A one point loss never comes down to the play of one player, and that one was no exception.

What about what should have been a 24 point lead that turned into a one point loss?
There's a big difference between creating hypotheticals and what actually happened. Other plays actually happened. Hall gave up an interception he had in both hands that led to their first score. Regardless of any play that Cade "as an example" made or didn't make, and whether any other pass he made would have been caught or not. Halls play is an example of yet another play that DID happen, that changed the final outcome.
