Points at Nationals according to seeding........................

I reran 157 with the new bracket. If you didn't hear, Murphy from Michigan withdrew. Top 6 still the same and only added 0.5 point to Iowa as Kemerer now gets TF in the first round instead of Major.

1. Nolf
2. Kemerer
3. Palacio
4. Lavallee
5. Berger
6. Smith
7. Parsons
8. Clagon
Who replaced Murphy?

Well........Iowa almost breaks 100 points. Coming in 4th with 97.5.

PSU 143.5, then tOSU, 114.5, next OSU 104.5, Iowa 4th at 97.5, then VT 88.

Your computer sure likes 1/2 points.

Guess you must have Suriano doing pretty well.

You got Clark placing above 7th? o_O

Edit: Iowa State tied for 35th with Buffalo and Bucknell at 4.5

Suriano 6th, Clark 8th.

Suriano 6th, Clark 8th.
Some may remember that I was an early Suriano fanboy back in November/December, but even I won't predict that he places higher than Clark. In fact and unless Cael is really pulling the wool over our eyes, I'd bet against Nick placing higher than Cory. Hope I'm wrong though.

Here is the new top 8 at 125 with Suriano out

1. Gilman
2. Dance
3. Cruz
4. Piccininni
5. Josh Rodriguez
6. Lizak
7. Lambert
8. Mueller

Team Points (Penn St loses 11 points)

1. Okie St 122
2. Penn St 110
3. Ohio St 101.5
4. Iowa 96.5
5. VA Tech 67 (gained 0.5, Dance MD Lizak in semis)
6. Missouri 62.5

New projections for the top six by the "abacus" (post-Suriano withdrawal):

1. Penn State, 133
2. Ohio State, 114.5
3. Oklahoma State, 108
4. Iowa, 97.5
5. Virginia Tech, 83
6. Missouri, 74

For what it's worth, I have Mueller jumping to 6th, and Piccininni sliding into 8th, with the Suriano scratch.

I'd be interested in knowing the major differences in your models. Looks like SHP's awards more bonus points.
That is the major difference. Andegre has mentioned he plans to continue tweaking wrestlestat because it doesn't project bonus very well at all. It didn't project one fall for the entire tournament and only 11 tech falls.

As a totally unbiased, fair minded, quasi-balanced individual...I like your model BEST!:D

133 without Suriano? Do you have Gulibon placing? That is crazy high for WD,DNQ,Unseeded,1,1,3,5,2,5,5.

Without Suriano, I have Mueller moving into sixth, Piccininni into eighth.

As for Gulibon, I have him 2-and-BBQ.

Also, keep in mind the abacus has Nickal beating Dean.

Dresser has quite the hill to climb. ISU has one point to their name after day one and only Weatherspoon at 174 is left in consolations. He may or may not win his next bout, and the one after that is problematic. ISU may end up with one point at nationals. WOW

Not as hard as you might think though to rebuild, imo. Marcus Harrington is a prime example, they must've tried to ruin him. I'm a hawk fan but also a big fan Iowa wrestlers, and it's painful to watch his college career.

It's not like a rebuild in football. You only need one good recruiting class(which we know he can do), to make a big difference and then two or three to be a top ten team again. The question is if he can continue to recruit the east coast like he has at VT
