CRUZ 16 vs 4 Nice to see his rankings climb! He gave up the 1st TD then was working hard to get to feet and turned in a couple of times to soon allowing the ride out. Was nervous he might get teched but he fought hard not to allow it. A little out classed 75

AYALA 2 vs UR Out scrambled the JAPanese kid(everyone OK with that!?!?) for the 1st TD. His signature shrug in 2nd was NICE!!! I thought if he came out to side more he would get a stall on the poke? GREAT work in the third to get major in a TUFF spot 99

RHODES UR vs 5 was somewhat surprised to see him? in any case he took the 1st real shot and was in deep but could not finish. Gave up TD late in 1st then again late in 2nd which seemed to be their plan in matches where they had a higher ranked kid. He could not escape in third to stop major but like CRUZ I believe he did his job in this situation 75

PARCO 3 vs 18 He was being the aggressor in 1st but maybe not enough? POKE down in 2nd and PARCO TUFF ride gets a few stall calls to take lead. IOWA down start3 out quick and adds a TD late. Like to see more offense but a nice win 85

TEEMER 3 vs 14 Quick BLAST double shows you what he is capable of. Then a great counter into a Peterson and I have NO idea how there was no back points???? Poke down start 2 and out quick, teemer got a stall warning then hit another blast!!!! Needed that ride out and gave it up with a second left!!! IOWA down start 3rd and hit with a few more stall calls. Obviously still not in TOP condition, don't like seeing the shoulder brace, hand wrap!!! Hoping he can put it all together in the next few weeks!!!! 80

CALIENDO 2 vs 6 HAWK in on a single and punk poke calls injury??? I do not get what was going on after it seemed injury time ran out? Coaches out on mat having a chit-chat??? Anyay Mikey down after injury and out, then he blows thru him with a nice double and rides him out!!!! He was pushing pace and got some stall calls on poke, put together another nice TD and ride out in third to get MAJOR!!!! HUGE win and they said last TWOOOO matches against him went to OT which makes it that much better 100

BRANDS ur vs 3 showed good D on poke first shot, then got into the same situation but could not stop TD which lead to a long ride out, Nelson gave up quick escape in 2nd. Was surprised IOWA chose N to start 3rd??? Nelson took a bad shot and got countered and I am thinking we are in trouble!?!?!? He did very well to get escape and hand fight to not give up bonus give him the 83%

FERRARI UR vs 3 zeros in 1st poke down start 2 and out pretty quick. IOWA In on his SNATCH type single and gets the TD and it was LOUD!!!! ANGELO goes down and fighting hard did everything but escape bring it to OT. KID DOES it again and BLOWS the roof off the joint!!! One thing I would have liked to see was him go for the stick there, but WOW!!!! CARVER MAGIC is the grade!!!

BUCHANAN 1 vs 6 Shoots and works thru tuff D to get 1st TD. When he was on bottom and working hard to escape, the stall rule/call on the edge kinda sucks because it stops action!!! I believe the rule should be changed- call the stall and let that situation go longer. In any case he worked hard to get the escape! poke down start 3. He puts on TUFF ride to get RT then adds TILT at end!! kid has been the MAN ALL YEAR!!! He seals the deal 101

Krueter 11 vs 3 Wyhatt looks pretty tuff!!! BIGGER/BETTER then before! Ben just giving up too much size and strength!!!

Was nice to see the former HAWK( current EAGLE) at the meet!!! Also the Football coach was there!!!

Need to get to a big meet soon, eat a Carver cone, and hang with Dan Gable!!!

Whoever tried to explain the rules of folkstye wrestling to Sakamoto before the meet tonight f- the poor kid looked so confused between the part about starting with your foot on the line to the part about needing to improve your position on this weird form of Par Terre I just felt bad for him. Clearly there is a scarey amount of speed and talent there. Good pickup for Taylor.

Steve Mocco his son and wife were about 3 rows in front of me. Decked out in Iowa gear if that means anything. His son is a monster after the dual they were down on the floor talked with Gable and a few others as well. Don’t know what it all means but they seemed very happy to be there.

Kids like Krueter and Ross are amazing athletes, but I am not sure how far they will go trying TWOOOO sports in todays world? I know there have been some examples in the past. There is just so much demand now I am not sure you see it again?

if KRUETER is a Linebacker, I am Frank Gotch!!! He needs to move to D-end and put on 50 pounds while he is at it!!! With todays technology, he could be TRAINING with the best O-lineman he can find. WATCH videos, PRACTICE moves/rushes, left side right side etc.... Win- WIN as all parties get better.

In the mean time, at 275, he becomes the TOP DAWG on the mat!!!

My biggest issue with officials is when they are consistently inconsistent and the stall calls last night were all over the place. I think the issue with the teemer Peterson position is the official never called control which would have been the warning to osu to try and get off his back if he could vs hanging out in the same spot. Poor mat control by the zebra there.

Team gets an A overall. It was like a high school party around the facility. Maybe 100 alumni there having some beers and a great time, but definitely a distraction. The teams focus was professional and impressive. The Moccos arrived early and were treated to a great crowd and meet. I would take Mocco over Ross, and that's isn't because we don't have Ross. Ludington looks like one scrappy mofo. Saw him stop in for a workout, and was wondering who is this guy. Angelo went up and gave him a big hug. He has a couple inches on Angelo so the frame is there to be a very nice sized 197. I'm sure I'm not the only one who didn't sleep last night. Work sucks even worse than the typical Monday.

I just watch the TEEMER match again several times. The REF is kind of indecisive I guess you would say? The Peterson happens about the 2 minute mark. The REF 1) could have called the TD sooner, but 2) he appears to be waving a count for backs???? Looks like TWOOOO swipes to me?

I think he should have gotten at least the 3 TD and then 2-3 more on backs but whatever!!!

The Peterson position is a TD full stop, should have been award irrespective of ND swipes at that point. After that, the ref should have been counting near fall for anything less than 45 degrees/within four inches of the mat.

Unless I'm mistaken, you can get a ND pin without getting the TD awarded first, but not back points. In order to start getting back points, I think you have to be awarded the ND TD first.

This is it exactly. The Peterson should have been a TD with control without needing ND swipes, and the swipes should have been for near fall (it looked like he was past 45 anyway), but the refs clearly announced they were swiping for ND first in order to give the TD, which was a mistake.

From everything i saw with that ref last night, i don’t think he wanted to call it a takedown. Same with Ferrari. How long was Plott taken down in OT before the ref actually called it.


I tend to flip the Homers and conspiracy theorists shit on this board, but that ref was atrocious with takedown calls and inconsistent at best with stall calls. Dudes either a big ol dummy or he hates Iowa
