Gable definitely wanted to come to Iowa and it didn't happen so last night he was extra amped up and was jawing from the bench. Been told him and Caliendo were jawing at each other for awhile. MN thought they could win the dual after watching Iowa vs Nebraska. Once Iowa won 4 of the first 5 Gable stopped jawing with the Iowa bench. Heard from some there it was definitely odd and not how Gable usually acts. It was Iowa and Gable was pumped up I wouldn't read much into it
The last couple meets he is beat in OT with a very bad shot. Last night he ended flat on his stomach.
That needs cleaned up.

None of it was worthy of fighting about on here. Man I just gave "the other side" when I saw Gobblin getting bashed. LIke I said if he was a Hawkeye I and others would love it. He's a gopher so he's a punk. Typical double standard of fans which I'm good with. I would've hated Tony Ramos or Gilman had they been wrestling for any other team. I still don't know why fisty came after me hard about it with all the misquotes and misplaced anger like I personally insulted him by not loving how Gable acted.

But when arrogance shines as brightly as talent, and people become fascinated by their own celebrity, one-time fans care less. If he’s dumb enough to drop shoes after another title next month, it won’t surprise me.

He was offered NIL from a few places. He countered with a ridiculous # and it never worked out. And Ben took the year off football.
I believe someone (maybe you) posted a while back Gable ended up taking less at Minny than Iowa originally offered - after Iowa pulled the offer b/c they secured Ben from football for the year. is that right?

Maybe just rumor but talk was when deciding initially out of high school, Minny offered his brother a full scholarship ride even though his brother was never cracking the lineup there or any decent div 1.
Gable has the quickest feet I have ever seen for a heavy and it's not even close. He makes other elite athlete heavies look slow. It really is amazing.
I see this all the time, and it’s just not true. Bobby was a top 20 pfp recruit that spent time ranked #1 at his weight class. You can argue he didn’t deserve a full ride, but most top schools would have welcomed him with open arms regardless of who his brother was.
GS is the best heavy. Kerkvliet is great, but GS is alone at the top.
Ben has acquitted himself quite well. He's just not in the same league as the guys at the top this year. No shame in not being able to challenge one of the best heavies of the decade. BK making AA would be a solid accomplishment.

Bobby Steveson was like #11 overall on Flo's Big Board in his class. A legitimate recruit who just didn't have a great college career.
