Only PAC 10 and B1G went at that time. Probably a good thing for Michigan. I think that Nebraska team would've beaten Michigan by 2 TDs imo.

Completely missed the point.

By the way, no amount of Scott Frost bragging or begging on National TV would have assisted in beating Michigan.

I get it. Sometimes it's what you resort to when you've done all you can and still don't control you own destiny. See Nick Saban all weekend.

The Husker Posters are saying that Frost will be given a long leash that could last several years as long as there is "progress".

The problem is I don't think that is reality. There saying that right now because Frost is the flavor of the month - Give them 2 years and lets see how patient they are.

Won't fire him before his contract ends nor any time after that. I think the Nebby fan base will finally "get it" the the glory days are gone and not coming back.

I voted he will be fired. Nebraska is delusional about their football team.
After watching UCF, they throw the ball 75% of the time and don't play defense.
That doesn't work in the Big in November.
Until Nebraska figures out that line play wins games they will be average at best.
Frost will improve Nebraska, but considering .500 is the bar BFD!

I don't think he will get extra time. This is the same guy they once booed and the fans didn't like. If he doesn't do well in the first two years those fans will turn on him fast.

Exactly. And they have had offenses that can throw the ball. And they have recruited well in terms of rankings.

Really bad decision by Frost i think.

He will only get a little bit of extra rope because of his name and history. It will take him at LEAST 2 years to get things going in HIS direction with his recruits. There is no way he recruits well enough there (without cheating) to win consistently in the Big10.

The league and CFB are completely different. Everyone has players, everyone has facilities. He has to beat more than 1 team now (OU) to get to a championship game.

Once the shine wears off and they have a 5-7 year....watch the hell out. Also, he is basically the last bastion of hope for Neb fans of a coach that has a connection to their past. If it doesnt work,....wow.

Give him some time and he'll do fine once they get their recruiting back on it's feet,... Competition in the Big Ten West is pretty average right now so with a reasonably good team you've got a decent chance to make the Big Ten Championship game and with an honestly good team you've got an opportunity to run the table and enjoy occasional participation in the CFP conversation. You won't get any respect from the media coming out of the west, but if you can prove yourself on the field they'll eventually have to accept you.....

"HawkBlocked,"....All new faces at Nebraska...and EVERYBODY knows it's a dumpster fire...:(

Scott is a winner... a homeboy... and has the TOTAL support of the Husker nation and Admin.... Nobody is going to breath down his neck for 7 years.... when your at the very bottom of the gutter....'everything' is up....:)

They will bring excitement to the West....and be fun to watch and play.
They will be breathing down his neck if they don’t win some games next year
He will get the time he needs. Riley was just a terrible coach who went 19-19 in three years. That is why he was shown the door. 4-8 settled his fate. You’d think a bowl game should always be attainable. Next years schedule is brutal, think Iowa would want to switch?
Havent looked but it would be pretty tough to play much of a tougher schedule than the Hawks played this year.

Huskers will give Frost some time to get things turned around. I think it'll take 3-5 years to compete for Big 10 West. He'll be lucky to get to 6-6 next year and most Husker fans get that - really tough schedule next yr. 2018 is a more favorable schedule, we'll be better after that. Recruiting will be key. We seem to do well in that regard, so I am optimistic going forward,, Its all better than where its been lately.

I think Frost will do a good job, but your 20 and 21 schedules look very tough, too.

The only fan base that needs to get over Nebraska’s success of the 70’s through the 90’s more than Nebraska fans are Iowa fans.

Seriously how many usernames do you have? And this post makes no sense since it's husker fans like yourself who keep bringing up the past since you aren't that great anymore especially since you've joined the Big 10.

It makes perfect sense and it’s the only way I can explain the fact that the Iowa board still has 5 Nebraska threads on its front page.

How does that have anything to do with Nebraska's and not getting over it as your original post stated there genius? I don't see any of these post or threads talking about Husker's past glory except how people like yourself are still stuck in the 90s since you guys suck in present day. Speaking of obsessed ironic coming from the person who has used about 15 usernames trying to post on an Iowa site.

What will the 2nd coming of Tom Osborne a.k.a Scott Frost do at Nebby? I personally think he gets fired in 5 years.

This is where they finally deal with the cold winter Lincoln reality. The 90s are a long time ago. The world has changed. Even Scotty ain't bringin it back. 8 to 10 win team each year, but better PR guy than Pelini or Riley. Maybe they beat the Hawks in Lincoln and the Hawks win in Kinnick. That kind of deal. He better learn some defense cause its gonna be physical.

I think in a couple of years he will be hard to beat. He is an offensive coach with a wide open game. If he gets the recruits he will be hard to stop on offense. Defense will have to get alot better for him to get in the championship type games.

Wow, 50 votes for "win a NC". We have a lot of Nebraska lurkers here.

He wouldn't have had to beg if the B10 and PAC12 weren't hiding in the Rose Bowl and not playing with the big boys. I'm glad those days are over.

Nebraska is lucky they didn't have to play PSU in '94 and Michigan in '97. That Penn State team beat tOSU 63-14 and blew out everybody they played. I have no doubt they would have beat Nebraska.

It's happened before..............

I think he'll be brought down by a woman.

Trade Michigan for Penn State and Colorado for Iowa State and it's pretty much the same.

It’s the road games that will be a killer. At Michigan, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Ohio State, and Iowa. Four home games are Purdue, Minnesota, Illinois, and Michigan State.

This was tough. I think he'll mostly win 8-9 games per year, but if he's there 5-10 years, I'm think he'll have a breakthrough team one year. Honestly, I think a LOT will depend on what his defensive coordinator can do. The mess I saw from UCF in their bowl game won't play in the B1G.

Iowa and Northwestern have been a wash on the road. Wisconsin and Ohio State are pretty tough.

I admit it will suck if the Nubs get good again, but I also think that the Nubs are scared of the possibility that if SF doesn't pan out, then they'll never return to the "good old days". So, there's excitement, but also anxiety.

That PSU team was the best I have ever seen in person. The combination of Collins, Engram, Brady, and Carter was ridiculous.

When Iowa hired Coach Ferentz his only head coaching experience was with the Maine Black Bears, a 1AA program. In addition, his record while at Maine was 12-21. So what exactly is your point?

Do you have a hard grasp of the typed word or are you just living to be a smart ass?

I'm typing this slowly for you. My point is...Nebraska hired a mid major coach.

Got it?

So you really have no point other than to try and throw water on OP's thread because it has no bearing on whether Scott Frost will be successful at Nebraska.
