POLL: Still Not Genocide?

Which position comes closest to how you feel?

Do you consider Churchill and FDR war criminals because they blockaded food and fuel shipments to Germany and deliberately targeted electrical generation?

Of course not, they were on the winning team,.. History dictates that only the loser risks being tagged as a war criminal.

And that's why I can't take it seriously.

It's war, not a boxing match.

Sherman wasn't committing genocide, he was bringing the war to end as rapidly as possible, by denying his enemy the sustenance to continue it.

You don't understand what war really means.

This reminds me of a quote I read about a member of Unit 731 out of Japan (interesting reading if you do not know about Unit 731). "When asked if he would do it again, he responded: yes, it is war and you have to win"

My issue isn’t with the methods. My issue is that it feels like this conflict is being artificially prolonged for personal and political reasons.

Prolonged by whom?
Did I miss the news where the hostages were released?

It’s interesting how heated this topic has consistently been around here. It’s like some posters think it’s our problem or a that we can control what’s going on in Gaza. I didn’t vote because my POV isn’t listed.

on a semi serious note, to answer the question as of today, i would want to know what the daily run rate looks like these days (and in comparison to in the early days), and where the deaths included in teh run rate were comign from.

Gaslighting? The ICC issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu because they found Israel has been committing war crimes in Gaza.

But yeah it's just us woke libs gaslighting everyone about what's going on in Palestine.
The ICC is right down the middle fair.😁😆🥹😅😂🤣 That's why the U.S. doesn't belong to the ICC, their antisemites.

33 for genocide; 23 against it.

I think some of these guys think Hamas is as covered with children as Elon Musk after the healthcare CEO got killed. A trick that certainly doesn't work on Israel as they seem to love killing women and children.

They literally hide under hospitals, using the sick and elderly (not just kids) as human shields. They also paraded around corpses of innocent civilians they butchered on October 7th through the streets. Savages.

Hamas and Palestine deserve everything they have coming to them. Imagine simping for a terrorist group like this. Despicable.

Hamas and its people (the ones who voted for them to be in power) deserve everything that comes to them after what they did.
Do you care about the tens of thousands of Palestinians that were murdered as well, or are you incapable of different perspectives? What about the thousands of them that were killed in the years leading up to the attacks on October 7th? What about the thousands of Palestinian prisoners, many of them children, held in Israeli prisons with no charges and no due process?

I happen to care about the loss of all innocent life, Israeli and Palestinian - but if you're honest with yourself, there's only one side administering apartheid and one of them committing genocide.

Here is some common sense for you. Israel gave them Gaza. We’ve had a two state solution for nearly 20 years. We gave the Palestinians millions upon millions, which they used, not for the people, but to arm themselves and spend on tunnels. What for? To attack Israel. The people voted for the Hamas terrorists and thus approved of it.
It’s a little late to be asking for sympathy. That time has long past.
To live in peace all they had to do was what Jordan and Egypt did, decide to live in peace. Real simple solution.

Hey, if it's good enough for America, it should be good enough for Israel, amirite?

[In case that's unclear, that's how we justified slaughtering Native Americans and then rounding them up and putting them in reservations.]

My position is that the slaughter of Israeli children does not justify the slaughter of Palestinian children.

Apparently you, most cons here, and too many libs here think it does.
Hamas can't use civilians as human shields (war crime btw) then cry foul when said shields are also killed with the terrorists. That's entirely on the democratically elected hamas terrorists.

This is one of the dumbest justifications for murder and genocide that I've ever seen. Repeating propaganda over and over doesn't make it true. If you're going to store munitions or fire rockets in a place with one of the highest population densities in the world, naturally there are going to be civilian structures nearby.

Human rights organizations, including Amnesty International, have found no evidence of human shielding by Hamas in past conflicts, while human rights and legal scholar Neve Gordon argued that Israeli claims serve as a "pre-emptive legal defense" against war crime accusations.

Meanwhile, Israel uses Palestinians as human shields.

The Times interviewed seven Israeli soldiers who observed or participated in the practice and presented it as routine, commonplace and organized, conducted with considerable logistical support and the knowledge of superiors on the battlefield. Many of them said the detainees were handled and often transported between the squads by officers from Israel’s intelligence agencies, a process that required coordination between battalions and the awareness of senior field commanders. And though they served in different parts of Gaza at different points in the war, the soldiers largely used the same terms to refer to human shields.
