It is, and he's not going to admit that he was wrong there. I'm not sure why he believes doing something like committing terrorism doesn't require patience.

It does require patience, be it via visa or refugee status - they will wait.

Ok. I'm personally of the opinion that Islam represents a collection of some rather bad ideas. The fundamentalist Salafist movement isn't so much bastardizing the religion as they are just following all the bad ideas inherent to the faith. That's true of most fundamentalist movements. To get a benign religion out of any of the Abrahmic faiths, you need to reject some of the teachings. In effect you must bastardize the faith to save it.
