I also know lazy people on inherited wealth.I know people on welfare who bust their ass and still can't get ahead and I also know lazy people on welfare who are just that...lazy.
Are you trying to break a record for resurrected posts, WWJD?I also know lazy people on inherited wealth.
But that's OK because they "earned" it.
LOLAre you trying to break a record for resurrected posts, WWJD?
It's just never going to happen. The majority of American's are moderates and desire action and compromise. However, when they go to the voting booth their choices are Left (only desire is to stay in power) and Right (only desire is to stay in power). Personally, I hated our 2020 choices so the first time in history I opted not to vote for a President (voted for other positions and local election only). In 2016 I wanted Johnson (couldn't stand those two choices either).LOL
I love seeing old threads. In this case I was curious which, if any, of Biden's proposals might have made it into law. I really don't know, but I'm guessing few, if any.
Which is a shame because many are good, and several even got majority support here.
Money was already a problem before Citizens, as we all know, but this and some followups (McCutcheon, I think) made it so much worse that is was definitely a huge nail in democracy's coffin.Had an acquaintance hooping and hollering that this decision is the culprit for where we are right now. I'm still reading up on it.
How Citizens United altered America’s political landscape

Easy to say but we have spent trillions on social programs and things look worse than ever. The breakup of two parent families is the real problem and you are not going to spend out of that problem. Some things cost more in the long run if you spend all your time bitching about whether or not they are truly free.
Saying nothing is free is both wrong - lots of things are free to all, and lots more are free to some - and a childish deflection.
And how would things look if we hadn't spent those trillions?we have spent trillions on social programs and things look worse than ever.
