I did not get any of the jobs I wanted, after graduation, but I got a job. It sufficed for a while, then I joined the Navy. After the navy I managed to make my way and live out all of my dreams. Nothing was ever handed to me, it was earned. Now, I have the career that I always wanted, the dream home, vacations, cars, and more.
Now, I am supposed to sacrifice all that I worked my entire life for so that we can give to those who don't want to earn it?

An entire chicken only has 1200 calories. A family of 5 probably needs at least 8,000 calories a day. People on here are claiming they can stretch that to five days. That's 40,000 calories total. The chicken would only make up 3% of that family's caloric needs. This is why it's disingenuous to claim that you can stretch a single chicken into a good 20 meals or so.It really isn't that far fetched to think that a single chicken can go that far. It really depends on how it's used. If you fry it up then no it won't go that far; but if you cook it down and make chicken and noodles/dumplings with it, there is a very good possibility you could get 3-4 meals out of it.
I always freeze at least 2 one gallon bags of leftovers and that's with two adults and two teenage boys eating. So yeah it's possible if you consider how it's used and what you add to it. A good batch is about 12 quarts when if you do it right.

That works out to well under a dollar per meal for starches, add a few dollars per meal for veggies and I can easily make three meals for 5 at under $30. That's about what it costs to feed five people once at McDonalds.
