Rumor that Toks Akinribade will be committing to Iowa today.

Also a rumor Nick Niemann will be committing to Iowa this weekend and Romeo McKnight on the 26th.

Not beating out MAC schools for this guy! Impressive list of suitors including Michigan. Go Hawks!
The deniers can't deny this is going to be a good class!

Looks the part. Got great speed and good vision. Welcome to the Hawks. No need for anyone to hate about this commitment.

General recruiting questions here: I'll admit I don't follow football recruiting nearly as closely as basketball, but I was just wondering what's the general feel of the current crop of commitments? Most appear to be 3 stars, with a couple of 2 stars in the mix. I realize "offers" and "interest" lists are not the be all and end all of recruiting since many stellar players were lightly recruited, but it did appear that many of them appeared to be recruited heavily by MAC-type schools. Not all of them of course; several had quite impressive "offer/interest" lists. I was wondering if this is a typical Ferentz recruiting class, better than average, below average, etc.

Looks like a solid commit! He's listed as an athlete...I wonder if that means he's not a RB at the college level?

There is no need to hate any player who has committed to the Hawkeye football program. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I just don't understand the impulse to go negative on a new commitment.

Fire away at the coaches. Take your shots at Ferentz, Davis, Parker, White, Kennedy, Morgan, Woods, et al. The coach who recruited the prospect is fair game I suppose. The kid who picks Iowa doesn't deserve insults and derision because of his choice.

Saw that this kid had a 40 time of 4.3

He is 6'1 205. Very impressive Hudl highlights. quick cut and showed tremendous breakaway speed. this guy is legit

Michigan was a terrible team, but you're right, they have always recruited well regardless of their record. This is the type of RB Iowa needed in this class after losing Higdon to Michigan last minute.

He already had a Tennesee offer

Yeah I liked his tape, very fluid runner and he made it look effortless. This will be an interesting prospect to follow.

One may be a LB.

Barrington Wade, right? Watch his film and then go watch Toks Akinribade. The latter is a stud, the former is definitely not. Not at RB, anyway.

Congrats on Akinribade. He's the type that can house it and doesn't dance around or hesitate. Has some power too. I've watched all the RB recruits going to B1G teams and he's towards the top. I'd take him over our RB recruit and over Matt Falcon in Michigan's class who is overrated.

Yes, Wade.
