Since we've been going through all of the "Other" possible scenarios.... let's take a look at this one.

Say UNC Takes care of Clemson.... and Iowa takes care of MSU... would that be enough to knock Clemson completely out of the Playoff and put tOSU in with us??

And what if by some MIRACLE UNC and Florida both take out their counterparts, and we take care of business against Sparty.... is there a way that all 3 of us get in alongside Oklahoma? Or would that just make the entire committee's heads collectively explode? Just looking at this from a different angle is all.

I'll hang up and listen. GO HAWKS!! :)

I see OSU getting in for sure if Clemson goes down. Putting Bama at 1 and OSU at 4. I would bet on that!

I am one who believes you shouldn't have a shot at the playoff if you can't even win your own conference. That's just how I feel about it. There are only 4 slots. But it looks like they have lined it up so Ohio State might squeeze in if the dominoes fall. No way they would put in 3 B1G teams though. Whoever loses the CCG is out.
If UNC beats Clemson I think UNC should get in.

2-FCS opponents......that could be the killer for North Carolina. I do believe that is why the committee on had they bumped up to 10. They would have to flush Clemson pretty bad to get in I think.

I think the committee will do everything possible to keep 2 teams from any conference being in the final 4. A two loss Stanford might slip in or a 12-1 ACC champion N.Carolina might make it, particularly if they were to dominate Clemson.

If Clemson goes down, I actually think a 2-loss Stanford gets in over Ohio State... besides the one extra loss (which clearly does not matter to the committee by evidence of Oklahoma over Iowa) Stanford has a far superior resume. Let's take a look at the Cardinal resume assuming they win:

SOS: Stanford 16th vs. OSU 61st

Wins over Power-5 bowl eligible teams: Stanford 8 (five of those opponents have 8+ wins) vs. OSU 4 (one win over an opponent with 8+ wins)

Sargain top 30 W/L: Stanford (4-1) vs. OSU (1-1)

Conference games played: Stanford 10 (9 conference + 1 PAC12 Title) vs. OSU 8
Note: PAC qualified 10 teams for a bowl game so two extra games is huge

Conference title: Stanford 1 vs. OSU 0
Note: This is a huge criteria for the committee, listed #1 on their list)

Biggest win: Stanford over #9 Notre Dame vs. Ohio State over #15 Michigan

Key losses: Stanford (#14 NW, #16 OR) vs. Ohio State (#5 MSU)

Non-conf Schedule: Stanford ( #9 Notre Dame, #14 Northwestern, UR-Central Florida) vs. OSU (UR-VT, UR-Western Mich, UR-NIU, UR-Hawaii)
Note: UCF is awful but still part of a the AAC which had a nice year. Hurts OSU that VT had bad year

I can see an argument both ways but don't look at this as a shoe in for the Buckeyes. The resumes stack-up and the committee is going to reward a conference title winner with an overall better resume.
