We were doing this in the 1st half (a little). It put a couple NW players in foul trouble.

But the team so damn in love with the 3 point shot, well as for much as they practice

it the wide open (and I mean wide open) looks didn't provide much.

Unacceptable, un-forced errors. If Fran spent half as much time Coaching his team

instead of cursing the refs Iowa might be a little more competative in a game like this.

Instead, once again Coach has to wait until he is at least 10 points down b/4 calling a precious

timeout. Oh, snap and we played 10 points down most of the game. Rant complete.

Well, my son and I thought jNW was clogging the lane a lot and getting away with a lot of contact and forcing early turnovers. So that part of the game wasnt working well inside in the first half.

Later KrisM was going inside and getting points.

But it really came down to bad 3 point shooting. And I do not think the hawks shoot that many more treys than most teams. they were 3 for 23 iirc and a more normal night they would have been 8 or 9 out of 23. Those 5 or 6 more made threes throughout the game is a lot of points that would have made it a very close game. Along with that Iowa didnt play very good defense, just avg, gave up a ton of open looks to a team on their home court, gave up easy penetration down the lane, and easy close in baskets.

Fran just cant seem to get a really good offensive point guard who is also a great defensive player.

Rebraca did okay vs NW 7 footer, but it was a struggle for him going 4/7 for 10 pts with 4 turnovers.

I don't see a lot of guys on the Iowa team that can beat their man off the dribble and finish inside the paint. They did cut back on the number of 3pt shots in 2nd half and it made no difference.

This team is built on making 3pt shots...they are going to lose games the 3pt shot is not falling. If we were built like that TCU team that stomped us earlier in season, we might be able win a game where we shot 12.5% from 3pt line.

Rebraca tends to be slow to something when he gets the ball down low unless he's already moving toward the basket. Just feeding him tends to stop things

Everyone knows the way to beat Iowa is to be physical with them. That's why the refs are so important to the out come of the game. If they have the guts to call fouls against Wisconsin at home, we have a shot. If they let them play their usual game against us, we're in for a loss.
