I asked nicely.

Can be 1-14 or in tiers. A listers, B listers...you choose the format.

I imagine Kris will top most lists, but don’t be afraid to think outwardly.

Could be most important. Not necessarily most talented.

ive said enough. Have at it.

Ok, I'll play.

1. Kris Murray
2. Patrick McCaffery
3. Tony Perkins
4. Payton Sandfort
5. Filip Rebraca
6. Ahron Ulis
7. Dasonte Bowen
8. Connor McCaffery
9. Josh Dix
10. Riley Mulvey
11. Amarion Nimmers
12. Josh Ogundele
13-15. Doesn't matter the order - Luc Laketa, Carter Kingsbury, Dante Eldridge

Not much different than mine for most part just minor tweaks.

A Group

1. Kris Murray
2. Tony Perkins
3. Patrick McCaffery (I think Tony or Patrick could be two - both are good players that impact in diff ways)

B. Group

4. Filip Rebraca (Underrated by Hawk fans on what he brings to table & I think really solid Sr. year)
5. Payton Sandfort (Player most likely to break into the A Group)
6. Connor McCaffrey (For leadership, ability to play all positions, and intangibles - glue guy)
7. Ahron Ulis
8. Dasonte Bowen (Can't put Bowen above Ulis or other returnees yet)

C Group

9. Riley Mulvey (Most likely to break into the B Group)
10. Josh Dix
11. Josh O

D Group

Walk-Ons - I know there is a lot of talk about Nimmers having an impact but will need to see it first

Group A
Kris
Filip
Peyton
Tony
Patrick

Group B
Connor
Dasonte
Ahron

Group I have no idea what to expect
Josh Dix
Josh Ogundele
Amarrion
Riley

Guess I could’ve just made one group out of the first two. It’s what I see as our rotation. Someone has to emerge from one or both of Ahron and Dasonte. Connor is also much needed. Hope a good story comes from the last group..

I would also say that Group A is the most impactful, but that Group B is the most influential.

Until I see the team in the first few games I really can't fairly rank the kids who haven't played for Iowa. For the existing players who have,
Kris
Tony
Patrick
Filip
Payton
Connor
Ahron
Josh
Riley
Luc

I agree with the above lists, however I think Payton will be our leading scorer over Kris. Last years double team defenses designed for Keegan will be applied to Kris, who is a very good passer. Payton, who is an opportunistic scorer, will be the beneficiary. Kris will have to work harder for his buckets than Payton.

The posts above are all right there....could be slight differences but pretty much everyone gets it.

So, top scoring group: Kris-Patrick-Payton-Tony

Top Rebounders: Rebraca-Kris-Patrick..........Payton?

Top Defenders: Tony-Kris-AU-CM-FR......Patrick? (blocks some shots)

Top Assist men: AU-CM-Kris

Most needed to step up: AU-RM-JO (simply stated if these guys play well and contribute we are way better than predicted-and we should already be pretty good).

Most surprising if they provide significant production: JD-JO-RM

Just some guesses.......

That would be great if Payton would have that kind of offensive impact. I guess I need to see it consistently to believe it. I have no doubt he is going to have some huge scoring games.

We have all been saying that Payton is likely to be a player that takes a big leap this year, so as a 3 point shooter for him I see 18 and 20 point games regularly.

I agree, if he gets enough minutes. Payton is a natural scorer, reminds me of Peter Jok the way he thinks he can and should score every possession. I think Kenyon has said that Kris is more of a point forward or Jack of all trades. He may get some triple doubles but I don’t see him averaging 20 points a game. PMac is a wildcard.

I expect him to have 18 - 24 pt games from time-to-time (especially in the non-conf) but not something I would expect regularly. Would be huge if that does come to fruition.

I see Kris more in the 16 - 17 pt range and PMac around 14-15. I had Payton at 11-12 but if he averaged more, that would be great. I think Perkins is at 11 - 12 as well and Rebraca around 8 -9. That's 60 - 65 right there with the other 3-4 guys in rotation in that 2-6 pt range.

I also have a good feeling about Brach. Put some money on that guy, if you feel so inclined. Most improved category.

Kris has all the tools but I don't recall too many games where he showed up in both halves. Sandfort, IMO, is the most versatile scorer on the team and I think last year just scratched the surface. He will get more attention from defenders this year with no Keegan, but there should be more consistent guard play with Bowen, Ulis, and Perkins so he should get some good looks off drive and dishes. Josh is a likeable guy, but I don't see him being much of a factor. Hope Mulvey and Rebraca make strides as we need some toughness on the boards. Any scoring from these guys is a plus IMO.

I get a kick out of some of these rankings. Putting an incoming freshman above experienced players when all you've seen is highlights is ridiculous. Go back and look at the upperclassmen's highlights from high school and temper your judgement a little.

It's no wonder some of you skewer these kids when they don't meet your expectations right away. Your expectations are unrealistic.

While technically we shouldn’t be able to rank or compare our incoming freshman to current players, that is how we play this preseason game of ours. No fun if we can’t dream.

I like Sandfort a lot. With that said, who is he going to displace in the starting lineup in order to lead the team in scoring?

I'll bite, this is what I predict by points per game: Kris 19, Patrick 15, Payton 12, Tony 10, Pilip 8, Aaron 6, Connor 6, Riley 5, Dasonte 5, and the rest is hard to predict.
I know most of you could care less but I'm really interested how Nimmers, Kingsbury, and Laketa end up contributing this year, yes they are all redshirt players but they are not yours typical redshirt players by any means.

I like how your top 5 look and I would be pretty close with my predictions on that as well.

I would be surprised if either Ulis or Bowen (or maybe even both) don't average more than CMac. I would assume one of them would be the starting PG and be over 5 pts per game.

I don't think Josh O will play near enough to even average 3 and 3. I think Mulvey will be the back-up C to Rebraca and be closer to 5 and 4 with Josh O not even playing in some of the games. I have no expectations from Dix coming off injury, so if he makes the regular rotation, that is a big plus.
