I disapprove.

I've been a Newsom fan for a while, but he's done a few things in the last year or so that have lowered my opinion a tad. This is another of those.

I think a good argument can be made for raising the flag for the inauguration - so it isn't the actual flag raising that bothers me - but since the Rs did it for political reasons, I'm disappointed that Newsom is giving them cover.

Celebrating the peaceful transfer of power and installation of a new president is now political? Who knew!

i don't think that's fair; WWJD acknowledged the inauguration rationale. what he's objecting to is the manner in which Johnson (and perhaps some of the govs) rolled it out.
