What is very illustrative about the modern "conservative" voter, as evidenced in this thread, is they very much like to laugh, point fingers and accuse people of being overreactors and making up scary stories that aren't true, yet they never, ever, actually have anything substantive to rebut the contentions.

You literally just described the Democrats and media over the last four years. People would continue to say that “prices are too high, crime is out of control, the border is a mess”. And what was the response…every goddamned time? “Actually, the economy is doing great. Crime is down! Deportations are up! You are being irrational by having these feelings and opinions.” Four years of it. And people responded by saying “Eat shit.” And now you have Kimmel crying on national TV during his monologue.

Well the economy is doing great and crime is down, so not sure where you are going with that.

Everyone knows the border situation and immigration is a problem and there was a bipartisan bill ready to be enacted before Trump told the GOP to kill it to help him win the election. I guess he was smart to do that, but it's disengenuous at best to blame the lack of action on the Democrats.

Do you forget the Democrats pushing an "inflation reduction act" and then inflation falling from over 9% to just over 2%.

Look, I agree the Dems did a horseshit job helping people parse perception from reality. They screwed up the messaging bigly.

But again, CRIME IS DOWN, PRICES ARE FALLING and the U.S. has the most ROBUST ECONOMY ON THE PLANET right now.

I'm sure most females would prefer you care more about you protecting their personals right rather than protecting a sport. What I love is Trump defenders saying "well it didn't get repealed did it!?" as if that bolsters their case. It wasn't for lack of trying!

I honestly kind of feel like the Democrats should just abstain from every vote and let Trump and his administration pass every cockamamie idea they have and sit back and watch all hell break loose. Hell, trying to "constrain" and "guardrail" and "obsruct" him only empowered him more because he could use that as "proof" that he was being persectured and treated "very, very poorly."

Let them burn it all down and not win another election for four decades. You broke it, you buy it.

This. Much time was spent during his first term in office blocking anything and everything to try to keep things "normal." It's time to get out of the way and let Trump and Co. fully run the show and do whatever they want and folks can live with the consequences and see Trumpism fully in action.
