Who tf wants to enter an industry making $30k, working shit hours, only to be told by those who already hate media (you and MAGA) that theyre enemies of the state?Speaking in general and not specifically to this article, people need to be able to trust and have confidence in sources of information. When that trust erodes people will leave you.
In my opinion, in the most recent decades, news media outlets have come to employ substandard employees. Employees unable to maintain the high standards of integrity and impartiality that are so critical in safeguarding public trust and maintaining a successful business model.
Newspapers are consistently the most reliable source of accurate information. This is a fact.Speaking in general and not specifically to this article, people need to be able to trust and have confidence in sources of information. When that trust erodes people will leave you.

Paper costs have been rising for a long time and people just look at shit on their phone/computer.
I guarantee it has nothing to do with confidence in the press.
Your opinion dovetails nicely with the rantings of your cult leader and other authoritarian leaders throughout history.Speaking in general and not specifically to this article, people need to be able to trust and have confidence in sources of information. Conservatives are giving up on the written word. It's because on average they're dumber. Reading is more difficult than listening.Shocking a libtard run business would become a loser.
Agreed completely. For my money it’s the last best hope for journalism more broadlyThis sucks. Local news is still the most relevant news to our daily lives. I will ways subscribe to a local newspaper.
Sure, but that's not why they're discontinuing a paper run. People are subbing to their digital subscription. No one has time for a paper anymore.
Well the Gazette is printed in Des Moines and shipped to CR, so if it didn't happen by 3 pm, you can read about it two days later in the paper or read about it immediately online.Paper costs have been rising for a long time and people just look at shit on their phone/computer.

Right? All these other small town newspapers are consolidating and closing. It's nothing to do with their politics and trust in the journalism. It's all about how much it costs to print and get it to them. If people aren't going to open the paper because they're getting news faster elsewhere (website, twitter links, facebook links, reddit, etc.) then the subs will go down, which means advertising leverage goes down.Well the Gazette is printed in Des Moines and shipped to CR, so if it didn't happen by 3 pm, you can read about it two days later in the paper or read about it immediately online.
LOL's. The people making these complaints are also ALWAYS the people consulting non-news sources (Fox News has declared in court they are an entertainment not news entity, Tik Tok) or extremely partisan sources for their "news".Speaking in general and not specifically to this article, people need to be able to trust and have confidence in sources of information.
