Protect all babies, but not those babies

Well then I guess their parents shouldn’t have put them in that position, you guys can’t pick and choose what laws should be followed and not followed, that’s not how this country works, if a single parent commits murder and the child ends up in foster care I don’t see you griping about that. We have rules and laws in this country for a reason and there are consequences if we break those laws, if we didn’t then yes our democracy would fail
I am all for fixing our immigration system, this country is made up of immigrants which makes this country great, but you have to do it legally and there are and should be consequences for those who don’t. What about all the children that are sent alone with coyotes by their parents? Should those parents be held accountable or not

So you're okay with a non-elected official with unfettered access to government agencies and a documented white nationalist bias giving orders to deport legally born US citizens? I'd like a yes or no answer.

There are children that were born in the United States, lived their whole lives here, in high schools in America that are afraid to go to class because they think ICE will show up and take them away. This isn't hyperbole, it's happening in classes of teachers I know in Des Moines and in Chicago. The "abuse" you're advocating eliminating has real life consequences for children that have never lived outside of this country. So again, if you want to fix it, it can't be by an order from a king executed by brown shirts with masks. There needs to be a real solution to immigration, but only one side is willing to have an adult conversation about it. (Hint: it's not the side of the guy you like to pretend you don't secretly keep a picture of by your bedside.)
GOOD!! GREAT!!!

Can you provide me a link where only Musk has ordered the removal of us citizens and it is being followed, and yes I am ok with a non elected official gaining unfettered access to our government to hold them accountable. Enough is enough and our government has had years to fix the problem

Give me a yes or no answer. Are you okay with US citizens being deported by ICE?

No, can you provide a link to where ICE is legitimately doing that?
Good, maybe there's hope for you.

A simple Google search will show you multiple instances of ICE arresting US citizens for being brown, and I know for a fact that these children are scared. And there are people like @Here_4_a_Day who absolutely want them gone, damn the Constitution, so don't pretend like it's not an existential threat.

So you have gone from Musk deporting US citizens, to ICE deporting US citizens, to now ICE arresting US citizens? Pretty convenient for your agenda don’t you think

If you believe that's what will be delivered to us by that douchebag, you're a rube and a useful idiot as they say.

The Billionaire Club thanks you.

That wasn't my question. You're deflecting because you cannot support your beliefs without admitting you don't support the Constitution.
of course I am not ok with it, now can you provide evidence that this is happening

and you kept changing your story
I didn't, but it's been a morning, so I'll back up.

There are legally born US citizens that are the children of undocumented aliens. They've lived here their entire lives, and now they feel a threat of losing their families and themselves having their citizenship revoked. Your prior rhetoric in this thread implies that you are all in favor of basically whatever Musk wants to do with ICE when it comes to kids, and they have made it clear in THEIR past rhetoric that they would like to strip these kids' citizenship and send them away. These are normal kids who have grown up in American schools and have never spent a day outside of the US borders. Within four years, I believe that they will disappear from America, and be sent into potentially dangerous situations, and I don't think that's right. Your trite replies make it seem like you don't care at all because their parents were here illegally, and I wanted your exact answer on that position.

well, kids aren't going to lose their citizenship, it will never fly, even if you think it will so you can advance your rhetoric. Moving forward the Supreme Court needs to rule on amendment 14 so there will finally be some resolution and putting a stop to the incentive to cross our borders illegally.

We shall see. I hope you're right on the first part. And the second part, I'd rather see a bipartisan agreement rather than a SCOTUS ruling. But that would take Republicans acting like adults and Democrats doing something other than throwing up their hands, so it may go that way.

Who will babysit and pay for them when mama and papa go marching home again hoooraah...hoooraah?

none, I was talking about parents who were here illegally, I forgot that I need to spell things out for some of you, my bad
That's an odd interpretation of Section 1 of the 14th amendment which does not speak to any characteristics nor the legal status of the natural born citizen's parents.

Important to note, the language of Section 1 begins with two very simple words, "All persons..."

I think it's safe to say he has a very blunted sense of empathy towards those actual living and breathing children which stands in sharp contrast to his highly emotional and overly protective stance towards clusters of undifferentiated cells, that he endearingly (and wrongly) refers to as "babies".
