I believe it was a sellout in their configuration, which means about 72,000. I wouldn't exactly call that embarrassing. The empty seats are behind the end zone on the sides. They don't sell those seats, and for good reason. That would be a horrible view.

Officiating is SO inconsistent. And with all the gambling, the integrity of the game may never have been more at risk.

Agree. I hate the amount of blatant holding and PI's that go uncalled.

This is a classic "cheer for the comet" type of game....but that said, there is no way that was roughing the passer on USC #6. Horrendous call on a total flop job by Allar.

It was by the letter of the law, they will not allow contact like that after the pass is thrown.

It is getting hard to watch anymore. You had the OSU offensive PI that put them out of fg range, you had the PI's in the PSU game, you had the scoring play that is not reviewable in the Iowa game, to see if it was actually made. Are the B10 refs just bad or is it something more then that?

Pass interference is just hard to get right. Years ago, and I mean 40+ years ago it seemed certain minimal contact with the ball was in the air would get you a flag. Now it seems you can manhandle the guy. I can’t even tell what offensive PI , defensive PI or holding is these days.


I’m thinking the evolution of passing game is what is caused these changes. 10 PI penalties on each team every game slows it down too much similar to how it would be in the NBA if they actually called traveling or incidental contact fouls .
