I feel confident about this one for some reason, we have sucked balls at Mackey Arena for years for the most part. I don't know, if we are hitting are shots we win...Comes down to that, Garza will get his, is CJ and Weezy making shots. Get them in foul trouble and parade to the FT line too would be huge.

This is going to be a battle, I expect the same intensity as Sunday and hope the Hawks can come out with a win. My book actually had the game at 4.5 in favor of Purdue and I bought the extra half point to make it -5. (I took Iowa) I really think if Iowa drops this one it is going to be close, but there is a part of me that says that PU absolutely destroyed MSU and if they have one of those games it could get ugly. Regardless... Go Hawks!

Yeah I am second guessing why I'm so confident, if they shoot poorly no chance, if they shoot their avg think they win. Comes down to that for the most part.

I'm unusually confident about this one too. I think Iowa comes in confident and ready to go which leads to a 72-65 victory. If Iowa wins tonight I firmly believe they won't lose again until February 25 @ MSU. A win tonight on the road gives them the confidence to do it again against Indiana and Minnesota.

I don't see the good guys pulling this one off.
A win would feel like they stole one; here's to hoping they do.

This one has me worried. Hawks need to control tempo, drive the ball and not settle for 3pt shots. If Purdue gets in foul trouble then I like our chances.

My keys to an Iowa victory
- quick start, early lead
- 40%+ 3 pt. shooting
- limit P 2nd chances

Don't dig an early hole, make P pay for sagging D /doubles on Garza, boards.

2nd chances will be key. They aren't a great shooting team, if we can limit them to one and done, they can't score with us.

West Lafayette is never an easy place to get a win. Purdue is fighting to make the NCAAs, so they will be playing hard. The crowd will be crazy. And there will be the typical Big Ten home cooking by the refs.

We need to stay composed. Can't have Garza getting into early foul trouble. He's better than either of Purdue's bigs, so we should have the advantage inside as usual. Boilers are good at defending the three, but we'll need Wieskamp and Fredrick to hit at least a few. The X-factor will be if Connor, Toussaint, Kriener or Evelyn can get going.

Gotta be strong on the defensive glass. Purdue leads the conference in offensive rebounding--a big reason for that is they're one of the worst shooting teams in the conference, so there are a lot of boards up for grabs.

And we absolutely can't let them get a huge lead right out of the gate. They ran Michigan State out of the gym a few weeks ago. That could easily be us if we aren't careful.

ESPN power index gives Iowa a 34% chance of winning tonight. Around 48% at Minnesota and Indiana. For some reason I like Iowa's chances better against Purdue. Minnesota gave Purdue the game at Purdue.

If Garza doesn't get called for 2 fouls in the first half we win. If he does we lose.

I bet the PU ML.

I will be at the game, which means we will probably lose. Sorry

There is no direct connection, of course, but I would say that if Penn State can win @ East Lansing--which they did last night--I would say Iowa absolutely can win @ West Lafayette. And I expect the Hawkeyes to do exactly that.

Iowa comes out hitting on all cylinders, takes the crowd out of it early, and returns to Iowa City with a big road W.

I have seen Purdue play several times this year and I'm not particularly worried. Last time I wasn't worried was for Nebraska. Not being worried worries me.

I was worried about Debbie but thought they'd ultimately win. I am confident and that does worry me.

I think a key will be Kriener playing like he's capable of. Really need his production from the bench. Last two games he's had 4 points and 4 rebounds, shooting 1/8 from the field.
This. We really need a reliable 10+ points off the bench. It would be nice if Pemsl and Evelyn could draw a couple of fouls and get to the line a few times per game.

The start will be huge. Seems like most of our recent trips there Purdue has come out on fire and lt Iowa trying to play catch-up the rest of the game. Iowa has been so resilient this year that I think we should at least be right there most of the game as long as they don't fall behind by 15+ early.

RK is a big barometer for me, especially with PD’s 2 bruisers. But, in general, Iowa needs more offensive contributions from guys not named Luka, JoeW, or CJ. Fran seems to think so too. Here’s an interview he did with Greenberg/Dakich. Talk about IL game but also PD. Fran thinks Iowa needs more from guys outside his big 3 for the second half of the B1G schedule. Will that happen tonight?

If Luka’s fouls are under control I like our chances. CJ and Joe W will have guys up under their jerseys, but over 40 minutes I think they get theirs.

It should be a great game.

My only prediction is that it will be a very low scoring game, 50’s or low 60’s.

Purdue is 278th in the country at scoring points. Iowa is 51st. I just don't see Purdue scoring enough points to win. Haarms is averaging 9pts a game.....Garza scores that many just from the free throw line.

Grinder game. Lots of hands on defense by the boilers. Need to drive and dish for open 3's and hit our free throws. We got this.

Our D is just as big here as the O. Play tough D like we did Sunday I think it's a fairly comfortable game. Give Purdue open looks and drives to the basket, all bets off.

I’m super nervous about this one. Somehow Purdue has always been a pain for us. Every time we play them I think of the night Lute chased the ref off the court. Jim Bain? Right? I have my scotch ready and will start drinking to the Hawks as soon as the game starts!

Its the B1G, every night is a battle.
Once in a while one team will stay in a funk too long and the other runs away from them otherwise its toe to toe for 40 mins.
