Purdue game tickets

Uh oh... Another "I'm a superfan because I will be at Kinnick and you're a piece of sh$& because you won't be attending" thread.

Give it a rest. Many reasons for the non sellouts and all reasons have been shared. Is it going to ruin your day if the stadium is not sold out?

Don't worry about what everyone is or isn't doing. If you make the choice to go then good for you and enjoy the game and Go Hawks. If you decide to watch the game at home or in a bar... Then good for you and Go Hawks...

Sidenote: I had season tickets for 10 years and gave them up at the end of 2012.... Didn't take in any home games the last couple of years. This year I have been to three home games and will be there for the Minnesota game. Am I superfan? Nope. Will I have fun? Yep! Am I going to call out other fans and say they NEED to be at Kinnick? Nope. I am worried about ME.

Just enjoy the ride and take care of your own backyard....
It's just Hawkeyestate81 with yet another of his threads calling out the fan base. Funny how he thumps his chest every time he buys a ticket as if it is a big deal and he is such a Superfan....and he is not even a season ticket holder!

Sounds like your typical bandwagon fan to me.

And yes, I am a season ticket holder.

Where are your season ticket seats located?

It is embarassing, PERIOD and needs to be called out. Players notice it, coaches, etc. Pathetic. they were in NW and SE endzones for 8 years and I had to give them up when I ended up with 4 kids ages now 8 to 12 months. Took the 3 boys to the first game, Pitt game now Purdue and go to Nebraska game every year. Thanks for asking tho big dogg.

My mistake....for someone who likes to call out fans for not showing up, I assumed you had season tickets.

Kudos to you for making almost half the home games, Superfan!

Not about being a superfan jacka$$, there is zero excuse for 13k available tickets with 9-0 team. PERIOD. Should be a sell out, easily with all that is on the line here.

Sure it is. You only thump your chest and call out fans on games you attend. On the ones that don't merit your attendance, we don't hear a peep out of you.

Not a season ticket holder? Then you have NO RIGHT to complain about attendance.

So the team is doing well and you decide to jump on the bandwagon for the Purdue game. Goody for you!

Son's birthday - wouldn't be able to be there even if I still had my season tickets.

I go to multiple games every year including 2012, disgrace there is 13k tickets remaining.

That's great! I realize not every Hawk fan can buy season tickets, or attend even one game a year. As a season ticket holder and I Club donor, I appreciate any and all who attend a game. I also understand why people can't or choose not to, attend.

What I do take issue with, is how you have started threads patting yourself on the back on a couple of the "occasional" games you attend, and then proceed to call out fans for not selling out the game. Rational people have given explanations as to why, which you label as "excuses".

So....enjoy the game. Hope you can attend more. But remember, just because you occasionally go to a game does not give you the right to pass judgement on others.

It took years to chase the fans away...they won't be won back overnight. In the meantime, I suspect the Purdue game will be close to...if not a sellout when all is said and done.

I'm coming up for Phoenix my annual game this weekend. Raised in IC and UI alum. Would have season tickets if I still lived there. Why would one within striking distance of going to the game not go to Senior day on what could be an all-time year is beyond me. I know, I don't deserve the right to complain since I moved away....

Here is the problem. I have never nor do I care when I go to a game. It is about the fact we could be clinching a division crown, one of greatest seasons in school history. And there is 13k tickets left. that is an indictment on this supposed rabid fanbase.

You gave up your season tickets and couldn't keep going because you had 4 kids? I know a lot of couples with kids that still have season tickets. Now we're winning and you go to a total of 2 home games and bitch about fans not going to the Purdue game. Take a look in the mirror before calling out other fans because who you should direct your bitching to is yourself.

I have young kids and season tickets. I go to as many as I can and usually miss a few. The ones I miss, I give to someone who can use them, that way my seats are full every week. You won't see me once come on here and get after people for not going, they have their reasons and it's none of our damn business. I figured you would at least be a ticket holder for the way you come on here and criticize the Iowa fanbase for unsold tickets.

Oh an also the Purdue game is 2 weeks out. If Iowa beats Minnesota, the clincher will be Purdue. Kinnick will be full. It's not like we're 24 hours out and there's 13k unsold tickets.

So you're calling people out for not attending but will only be at 2 games in Kinnick this year? Hmmm...very interesting.

Personally I don't completely trust the coaching staff yet. I think it's difficult for a leopard to change their spots. The fan apathy has caused Kirk to change the way he approaches the game. I believe the low attendance is the fans way of saying don't get comfortable Kirk. Depending on how the season plays out he could earn my trust back. But he spent a lot of time putting a crappy product on the field and now it's coming back to bite him.
Only 2 teams in B1G since 2000 with 9-0 start. Iowa is one of em.

Just delete your account. K? Thx bye

Fair enough, just buy tickets that's all this is about. Love the pathetic attacks.
I don't agree with people calling out fans for not being at games when those fans haven't been to every one so far themselves. Maybe their excuse is the same as yours for the games you missed. I've been to every home game but the Ill St game to this point, and you won't hear a peep from me. Would I love to see Kinnick packed week in and week out, absolutely.
