I loathe wrestling refs as much as the next guy, but I wouldn't mind seeing this guy do more refereeing! Probably one of the best ref'd matches I can remember.

Be more like this guy. Anyone know who it was?

We all could have left Carver earlier Friday if he was there.

He wasn't egregious or overbearing with his calls. Quite the opposite really, he wanted wrestlers to wrestle. What a concept!

Yup…liked him as well. You should hardly notice a ref if they are doing their job right. I don’t care if these guys call the stall against us or them…just call it.

This was the first time I thought to myself “wow, everything this guy is saying makes perfect sense”. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a ref (on tv) call a meet like that. “Red/green, your not doing this, you need to do this”. It was perfect. Every call, regardless of Purdue or Iowa, I literally said “yep”.

Conference and National directors of officials should be sending video of today's dual to all officials as an example of how to officiate collegiate wrestling. Most well-officiated dual meet I have seen in years.

Couldn't agree more, this guy was awesome and kept the action going. He was fair both ways and communicated perfectly.

As above, great job clearly and consistently officiating. He let wrestlers know the specific expectations, warned them appropriately. More refs could learn from this gentleman.

I completely agree, the referee @ Purdue was like a breath of fresh air compared to what we normally see. He should be held up as an example of the golden standard for all wrestling referees to aspire to.

Yeah yeah he was good, I still think Angel Rivera is my favorite.
