Putin’s investment is paying off

The end result of MAGA's new love of isolationism is going to be everyone else developing nuclear weapons. They won't trust that America has their back, so the only real solution is building nukes of their own.

Which is funny considering the angst they have with Iran developing a bomb.
The parallels between isolationism in the US pre-WW2 (with the aid of propaganda sponsored by Germany) and now (with aid of propaganda sponsored by Russia) is striking.

Trump is right. It's bankrupting our country trying to be policeman of the world. As far as Nato is concerned, it's members had to be threatened so they would meet the minimum military spending required by its charter when Trump was POTUS.
Nato countries have been playing US taxpayers for suckers for decades. The only exception was the four years Trump was POTUS. The USA spends trillions on its war budget so Europe can spend their taxes on general welfare.
Your post/like ratio says it all.

Yep, it took Pearl Harbor to wake up the country then. Roosevelt knew how terrible it was in Europe and did all he could to supply Britain inspite of Congress. Now we are in opposite land.

They don’t love isolationism, they love Trump.

Can someone in this thread explain why the EU, with its larger population and economy, has to be a ward of the United States?

Why is nuclear armed, larger, richer Europe forced to rely on the U.S. for defense from a nation that 1/3rd their size in population, with an economy not even 1/10th the size of theirs?

Why is that entity in desperate need of our help?

If they can’t take care of themselves (a larger, richer country than ours!), who can?

What’s the argument for letting them keep their welfare states, while we subsidize their defense, when they have a larger economy than we do?
Because as an alliance we are unconquerable. Individually not so much. Enemies of our enemies are our friends.

Exhibit A: Vote down funding to support Ukraine, blame Biden for Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Exhibit B: Biden isn't doing enough to defend against Iran. (Biden launches attacks against Iranian-funded militants.) Now Biden is warmongering.
Guys on this site legit already do this. On many topics.

Board R - Inflation is on Biden.
I point out a R congresswoman accuses Biden, after capping insulin cost, will want to cap food costs.
Board R - You’re saying the government should dictate prices corporations charge for their products??
Board R - Inflation is on Biden.

I can’t help people who don’t want to be helped.

The payback for 75 years of stability in Europe has been tremendous for the US.

And they didn't have to worry about that until trump came along.

I guess most of the world sees a murderous, invading dictator. Kind of tough to miss that one.

You want to bet on the good will of a guy who could be immediately killed in Eastern block politics picking us to rebuild his country and I want to bet on the contract language of a loan.

I'm not impressed with your intelligence either.
You honestly think they Ukraine wouldn't keep their commitment with the US? You are naive. They will still depend on this country. The USA will get a majority of those contracts. You are seriously slow.

You think they are going to honor their word but will casually discuss them skipping a loan......

EL OH EL.
