So you have Matt Sherman ahead of Hartlieb. InterestingOriginally posted by DogBoyRy:
Closer but move Chuck H to the bottom and Stanzi/Tate.
you just described message boards, thank youOriginally posted by bouma1415:
This is an exercise in armchair quarterback masturbation. Hard to compare QB's from year to year. First, Brad Banks had one of the all time great offensive lines of Iowa to hide behind. Next you have to look at who had the better receivers and which team had an above average running game that makes the play action pass work. Chuck long had a phenomenal receiver out of the backfield to throw to(Ronnie Harmon). Which team had a great defense to give you the ball with good field position. Which QB had Ferentz calling the plays and which had Fry calling the plays. I know I would want Fry calling my plays compare to KF. Too many variables to be fair. The fair thing to say is that they all had talent, and were all great players.
weren't all of the pick-6's during his junior season? as I remember, he was much more conservative his senior year and didn't take the chances that he did the year before.Originally posted by Hawk and Awe:
Ricki Stanzi - This one was hard.... Such a solid Junior year, but all those picks for TD's hurt him his senior season.
Pickles always seems to be left out of these conversations for some reason; perhaps because he was only a starter for one year. He is the only Iowa QB to really do anything in the NFLOriginally posted by Kurt Warner:
Long (easy #1 pick)
Rogers, hartlieb, banks tie for second
Tate, stanzi tie for third
Vlassic should be on the list way before sherman, he had a very solid senior year. Jim hartlieb and chandler were also a very fine qbs.
