Is there a worse team in the country than Iowa? I simply don't get it. These are basically layups. And we are like 50 percent or worse. Hell I think we manage to jump about half the time. And if we get that sneak last Saturday who knows but we jumped. I know we have some young guys on the line but this has been happening for years.

240 lb QB and Iowa has people going in motion on 4th and an inch. Just asking for disaster and they got it. Line up, get set, snap the ball and move the chains.
A 240 lb QB that has shown the ability to stay on his feet better than any of our recent QBs. I don't know how many times he has shaken a sack/TFL this year, but it seems he is good for one or two a game. Kid has some good lower body strength to go along with a pretty solid frame.

I liked the old fashion, rush up to the line and go. I thought Iowa converted much more when they rushed up to the line.

Last week I am pretty sure something was called from the other side of the ball, because you saw two Iowa linemen move. Not just 1 like normal. I think the refs might of missed that, but regardless you have to know your QB's voice from a LB.

I'd actually like to see Iowa do that, given how they like to try to just line up and out-execute you.

Quick rush to the line and do our slant runs out of the I, or whatever they want to call.

Forces the defense to have to play more base, or be ready to shift quicker pre-snap, and can also open play action pretty easily too.

This was the play that pissed me off the most last weekend. Stanley should have let everyone get set, walked up and as soon as he put his hands under the center's butt, it should have been snapped without any signals called... fall forward and get the first down. Score the damn TD while finishing that drive and we win.

Why put a guy in motion???????????????? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I admit we do sometimes look in slow motion when trying to do a QB sneak ...

Really? Because in the games I've watched since Kirk has been coach when there is a 3rd or 4th and 1, I swear 90+% of the time we hurry to line, go on the first "set" and QB keep directly up the middle. And I've seen plenty of times where we were stuffed short of the sticks. Hell, I've said it before that if the QB takes the snap, waits a split second and picks either left or right a step vs. middle it would've worked but what do I know.

Iowa's MO for years has been hurry to line, quick snap and CJ/Jake/Ricky quick sneak up middle.

The smartest thing to do in many of these situations would be to throw a pass out of the sneak formation. Of course, it would usually go for a TD, so that's a bit too sexy for KF.

Is the Ed Cunningham criticism of Kirk responsible for the gingerly/caucious play of Stanley?
" Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz on Tuesday defended himself against allegations from former ESPN and ABC analyst Ed Cunningham that Ferentz had endangered the health of quarterback C.J. Beathard in the 2017 Outback Bowl."

It was another bloody no call from a gutless crew. Our FB was pointing and yelling to the refs to throw the flag but instead we jump and get penalized instead. BAU.
