Hey, I pretty much agree with your comments and certainly agree with the urgency behind them.
I do think a portion of the "redlining" is a ridiculously fast-tracked way to change budget priorities/appropriations. In a sense this happens every election (i.e. elections have consequences) however it is typically done via proper protocols and in acknowledgement of the separation of powers. Because the TrumpElon processes have been so incorrect, many of the actions taken the last week will very likely be deemed "wrong"/halted/overturned by reviewing courts. And you obviously can't have the fox guarding the henhouse, so we can't have Elon determining whether he has a conflict of interest.
I also think Congressional Dems will prove to be a useful adversary to TrumpElon this term, but we'll soon find out.
As a liberal dem who has never voted for any republican that I can remember, especially at the Fed level, I would be appalled and screaming for obama and biden to stop it.
If Trump wants to send in auditors into these places like USAID but keep the agencies running I have no problem with that as long as they dont interfer with the work.
Along time ago and many of you maybe dont know or remember there were scandalous reports of Medicare getting scammed by providers who were crooks, etc. A lot of it was in the medical equipment area where pop up shops run by people who had stolen medicare numbers who file bogus claims on wheelchairs and all kinds of equipment.
And no one seemed to know how to stop this. I thought the easiest way to stop it was to demand any new businessses dealing with Medicare had to go through a more thourough background check BUT especially they would have to put down a large, very large amount of money into a Bond type account to pay if they were not on the level. But I dont think that was ever enacted which is too bad because a lot of crooks are not going to do that with their money or they didnt have the money

Biden did cancel most of Trump's EO's, nearly all of the signed and paid-for drilling leases issued under Trump, and even superseded Trump's Covid response (which was state-centric) replacing it with his own plan while insisting that Trump's plan was doomed for failure. He proceeded to cat-call and mock Trump all along, thinking this would earn him brownie points with the electorate.
This was for starters, He then proceeded to reverse nearly every single Trump program he could during his four years in office. He started giving money to Iran again, he begged to be allowed back into the Paris accords,. ... and the list goes on and on ...

The reason being that he wanted to erase Trump from "all-things-government-related." Whatever Trump had set out to do, he set out to cancel by doing the opposite. Trump was Biden's compass; if Trump was North, Biden was South and so on.

The waste is a rounding error in our budget. Military increases alone will swallow up any of these savings. Meanwhile tax cuts will increase our debt by trillions again.
