I get labeled a "leftist cult member" despite the fact that I am quite literally the target demographic of the GOP—a 20-year military veteran who grew up hunting and fishing, owns a plethora of guns, supports the Second Amendment, and is a Christian maintaining conservative values which include a strong military defense and firm border control measures. Hell, I listen to country music, live in Texas and tried lots of crazy stuff "in a small town."
Technically, I identify as an Independent, but here is my voting record:
Voting Record

1996 - Ross Perot (Independent)
2000 - George W. Bush (Republican)
2004 - George W. Bush (Republican)
2008 - John McCain (Republican)
2012 - Mitt Romney (Republican)
2016 - Gary Johnson (Libertarian)
2020 - Abstained
2024 - Chase Oliver (Libertarian)
*I did vote for Colin Allred to get Ted "Cancun" Cruz out of office
Issues
Abortion: Pro-life, but struggle with enforcing that on others (biggest source of social issue struggle).
Marriage Equality: Supportive; who someone marries doesn’t concern me a bit.
Border Security: Lock it down! Build a moat, place landmines, etc.
Gun Rights: Firm supporter of the Second Amendment; believe in responsible ownership and personal freedom to bear arms, but we do need tighter controls which I've laid out in all the "pew pew" threads.
Healthcare: Favor market-driven solutions but acknowledge some level of safety net is necessary for the truly vulnerable.
Military/Defense: Strong supporter of a robust defense budget and policies that prioritize veterans' needs, but would like to see more accountability with regards to defense contractor spending (looking at you Boeing!)
Climate Change: Skeptical of extreme policies; 100% support practical, balanced environmental stewardship without crippling the economy. Oh, and it's real!
