Tough luck for JN. Two surgeries already. Where those injuries both the ACL? And were they the on the same knee, or both ACLs?

The good news, assuming no further knee damage passed the meniscus, is that the chances of 100% recovery are generally pretty high...
One almost has wonder if this is related to one of his earlier injuries, and wasn't diagnosed....
Here is a speedy, and FULL, recovery for Jack!

Nunge's minutes distribution will be interesting... It'll be a small lineup. Who I would like to see play is Kr Murray.. I saw Kris play a few times last year, and he was the best player on the floor several of the games. If the game MVP wasn't Keagan, it was usually Kris.
Just like KeM, KrM plays good D and Rebounds well. You will like him.

A lineup for when Garza sits:
KeM
KrM
JoeW
CJF
and either JBo, JoeT, or Ulis would be interesting to see for me.

Any info on Jack's injury?

What lineup changes are people wanting to see happen??

I'm a little confused. When did Jack have another ACL surgery before last season? Last year was on the right knee, but I wasn't aware of another. The meniscus injury is not as severe other then it is on the same knee. I tore mine three years ago, (results from the loss of elasticity as the cartalege ages). Often this doesn't require surgery, and can heal with time and rehab. Mine improved quite a bit with rehap and I have probably about 85 to 90% range of motion and limited pain. Of course if your a young athlete like Jack who plays a sport then surgery is required to keep the knee operating at as close to 100% as possible. He's supposed to have the surgery this week I believe, and should be fine by later this summer. The issue I would think is if Jack struggles with the mental aspect of these multiple injuries.

He broke his foot if I remember correctly. Think he only hurt his knee once, again if I'm remembering correctly

That might be it. I had thought it was another knee injury. Glad it wasn't!
So, it possible that this meniscus injury was something lingering from the ACL tear.

The way Jack was playing, I think he'll be headstrong enough to make it back. Plus he has amazing Hawkeye family support... Fran has a very tight team/program. Probably more than any coach in modern Iowa history.

I guess I thought he had an injury before or during his sophomore year. But maybe not... He did have mono before his sophomore year, and a bunch of weight. That in a really crowded frontcourt good reasons to Redshirt.

We keep hearing how Kris is just a hair behind Keegan and is showing a lot of talent during practices. You would think if he were that close it might earn him a few minutes here and there. There are lots of stories of how some players are better game performers than practice studs. And vice versa (we've had our share of those). I'd just like to see the kid get a chance, especially with Nunge out.

It will be interesting to see who gets the extra minutes! Hope Fran can figure out something that works well, is productive and gives Garza time to take a breather...

My oldest son had a "bucket handle" tear of his meniscus when he was in 8th grade. It was repaired, and he was given a rehab program covering about 6 months, going very slow the first 3 months.

During football his SO season, he was returning a kickoff, made a cut and crumpled. Retore the meniscus. They just cut out the torn part this time, missed the rest of football and was back for basketball. Hasn't had a single issue with it since, it's now been 10 years since the original injury.

Jack will be back, but it sure seems like he is injury prone. If I were Fran, I would limit Jack and Cj's minutes to less than many starters often have. Does anyone really know what CJ's problem(s) with his lower legs is, and was it a repeat of the previous year?
