Quinn Ewers reportedly “has a deal on the table” from a team in the Big 10 for $4 million to transfer next season and forgo the NFL Draft.

Ewers is reportedly debating on transferring and staying in college for another season or entering the draft.

Several NFL scouts reportedly have Ewers ranked “outside” of their Top-4 QB’s in this year’s draft.

The Longhorns QB is going to get the BAG with either decision he makes.

Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon, USC, and many other possibilities could possibly be on the table for the Longhorns QB

This has got failure written all over it.
So proud of Kirks system of developing high school kids into fine young men and good football players with a focus on education. Winning games comes in around 3rd on the list as it should. Time to get back to the basics, "gentleman this is a football" VL.

Hello, Ohio State, but I could see it being the Death Star that is Oregon also.

because this isn't real news. I'm sure his agent has been contacted, but anyone that believes this is legit is laughable.
I have no real view on this specific story one way or the other but if you are implying that in general there aren’t QBs out there signing 7-figure NIL deals, I think that’s pretty easy to prove.

I just read a story in the Wall Street Journal the other day where a billionaire basically admitted he cut a big check because his 4th wife likes Michigan and wants them to have a good QB.

I never once implied that, in fact the Michigan 5* recruit is stated to get 17 million over the fact. Yes, Larry Ellingson who was recruited by Portnoy to pitch in on that deal, as I've posted multiple times. However, this story is factually a crock of shit posted by some random twitter feed.

I mean, we KNEW this was going to be a shitshow before it started but I don't think anybody predicted it was going to be like this. Blue bloods buying players openly.
Actually, several people predicted this...or something very, very close to this. Once there was no penalty to transfer and virtually unlimited $$ bidding for players, this type of scenario was inevitable. I was one that saw it coming...about the only thing left now is transferring in the same season.

Shoot, why not let the kids transfer at halftime of a game? (I know this is currently prohibited by rules, but why not, it's about the only thing left.)

Arch is ready to start if he does bolt.
As mentioned above, a joke.

My brother is a huge FCS fan, and I must admit that there is a lot more enjoyment following football at that level compared to FBS, and the gap is getting wider and wider. Too late for me, because I'm Hawkeye through-and-through, but anyone who is just a fan of football in general I would recommend following lower level college football.

I'd say that is going to get more and more spread out, the states that currently do not have an FBS program are about to become NIL powerhouses, both Dakotas, Montana. Sprinkle in a few of the Texas programs, and there ya have it.

Absolutely f*cking ridiculous that this kind of news is out there while Texas is preparing for the CFP. JFC.
Leverage. "I don't want to go coach...but my girlfriend/mom/dad/etc says that the $$'s are to big to ignore...". As a business owner...I have lost count of the number of times certain types of people will try to extract every last penny from you...when they think that they can.

True story...I once had a situation where a long time, beloved member of our staff got cancer. This was not widely known for a while. But once it came to a point where this was shared with other staff and it was clear that the prognosis wasn't good I had a guy come into my office and tell me that since "Bill" wasn't going to be able to work there in the future (because he would be dead) he told me his wife said that I needed him more now and that he should ask for a raise.

Everyone else was in shock and it was a very somber time...but to this cat...more specifically his wife...it was time to strike. I relieved him of his position a short time later.

Nope. FCS schools that develop a diamond in the rough lose them to FBS because the players chase the money.

College football is becoming more of a TV sport. It’s great to sit on coach and see the super teams play. Not so great if you actually are a fan of the other teams.

Fast forward a decade. Be interesting to see fan interest for the bulk of teams that will never sniff the playoffs and bowl games become an over glorified spring game.

Ok, my mistake. I still see kind of a lot of posts from people that seem to think all of the NIL deals in the media are exaggerations and that NIL isn’t that big of a deal so I assumed that’s what your post was about. My bad.

all good, it's moreso the timing of the post, the dollar amount, and the sketchy ass twitter feed it is coming from. Were this after the playoffs, someone said he was offered a 7 figure contract, I wouldn't be surprised, but a specific dollar amount, right before the playoff, that is just click bait.

The roster number restrictions will help the lower schools to some degree.
