Fun with numbers....

So I have to admit, I was a little bored today. So here is something to chew on while waiting for Saturday.

I compared the AP top 25 preseason vs the current CFP rankings.
-Only 4 teams finished above their Preseason ranking (Clemson, Alabama, Oklahoma, Notre dame, and Stanford)
-13 teams finished ranked after being unranked in pre-season.
-1 team is exactly what they were ranked pre-season (MSU)
-6 teams are currently ranked in the top 25 but below their preseason rankings.

Interesting facts- SEC started with 8 teams in the top 25 and had 10 in the top 25 by the second week. Only 2 of these teams are currently in the top 25 (Alabama and Ole Miss)
-The SEC only had 3 weeks where they had more teams in the top 25 than the previous week with the highest number being 10 and current number being 4.

B1G started with 3 teams in the top 10 and gained or stayed the same 10 weeks with the low being 2 teams and high of 6 teams. Currently 5 teams. 3 of these teams were unranked in preseason.

Not sure what to make of this, except for the fact that it makes it easier for the SEC to have a "quality win" when all but 2 teams in the conference were ranked through out the season but only 4 end up ranked.
