2 punts, 39.0 per punt.
He really fills up a stat sheet.

Gotta admire a punter that has the balls to call his own number inside his own red zone.Don’t forget 1 gigantic ass chewing.....maybe several.
I look at it from the player's perspective. He gets that first down and he is drenched in pussy for the rest of his college life. Kid made the right call.I don’t think I have ever seen Kirk grab a player in the sideline and make him stand there to “answer for his crime” like that before. Rastetter gave the coach a quick “sorry about that and tried to slink away, but Kirk grabbed him by the front of the horse collar and asked him a pretty direct question.
That was clearly NOT in the script and Colten may be residing in the doghouse for a long, Long time.
Imagine Kirk having to explain a fake punt while being ahead 48 - 17 deep in the 4th quarter.
Nah, he still should have called it to the rest of the team on the field that he might run it if it was there so they would throw a couple blocks for him.I look at it from the player's perspective. The kid wanted to get in on the fun, got caught up in the moment, and nearly made the first down. Yes, it was a mistake, but it is conceivable that the special teams coach, understanding the situation, would have gone to the kid and told him, "No fakes. Just punt it." Coaches should anticipate a player's mind set, and always be aware of what could go wrong. So since the coaches apparently didn't advise the kid in advance, I would say they are at least as responsible as the young man is.
So it happened. Get over it. And because OSU then scored right away, it gave Iowa a better shot to top the 50-point mark, which was fabulous. So let's not get too holier-than-thou.
