Even a relatively small asteroid such as Dimorphos is estimated to have a mass of 5 billion kilos or about 11 billion pounds. Do you know how much delta-v it would require to do something like that?

Plus, MOST of these smaller asteroids aren't solid masses, but clumps of smaller rocks that don't lend themselves to being dragged around. When you hit them, it's like spreading out a bunch of different-sized billiard balls, which can be re-directed. Trying to attach a rocket to that bunch of billiard balls isn't too practical.
