We all know they flock to this site within nanoseconds of defeating an overrated Texas Ten team but now when they lose to another Big Ten team they run away and hide.

Hey isu's future is awesome. I mean they return 6 points from last night output for next year. The college basketball world will quake in their boots over that. Or at least by the time next season rolls around clown fans will be convinced of that by Randy Peterson.

Yep the sun rose in the east today, it is another day that ends in Y and isu's basketball team isn't nearly as awesome as clown fans think it is. I have seen this movie before how about you?

I guess the B10 is a pretty legit basketball conference.......even in a down year.

Don't worry the official narrative from isu fans will be that it is pathetic to run conference smack when the Hawks are in the NIT.

Wait for it. Wait for it......

It must have hit them pretty hard; they finally locked up the 500 page, 10,000 post thread on Hawkeye basketball shortly after the loss.

'Tis a shame.

I root for ISU when they are not playing Iowa. What a great season for them and they will be solid next year. They might be a "NIT/NCAA BUBBLE" team next year unless they load up on grad transfers (which they very well could).

Good season and looking forward to Iowa's trip to Ames next fall!

Oddly, the fact that they have to come on this board to say anything is proof of, the definition of, the Little Brother Syndrome.

They pay so much attention to us. One could say they idolize us.

But dang, go make your own friends kid! We've got better things to do. Find someone your own age to hang out with!

Randy Peterson is likely typing up a gem as we speak on how and why the 2017-18 Cyclones will be BETTER than this year's team. Have to keep the hype train rolling somehow in order to sell tickets. (See football)

Kind of like the unsinkable Cyclone Titanic, isn't it? Would that I could, I'd be punching holes in their lifeboats right now. :) "Down ya go Lil' Bro!", as I row away in the last good boat, to a safe distance to watch.

Hey the Cyclones just wrapped up another undefeated season against other teams. What I have learned from my Cyclone friends...or rather acquaintances and message boards is once again their only losses were to the officials.

Kind of sounds like Iowa fans. Just saying.....

You guys..... am I the only one that thinks some Iowa fans may also be obsessed with ISU being obsessed about Iowa?

The whole thing with the "little brother" at syndrome is generally the "big brother" has better things to do then talk about the other kids problems. Imagine if one of your friends wouldn't shut up about how desperate his little brother is to stand out and be noticed. That'd be weird right?

Maybe if isu fans didn't come here and act as they do we wouldn't have any need that mock them.

No, you're not the only one.

When it comes to posting about ISU or any other team outside of the Hawks, I try to stick to one rule. If you're content with rubbing the other dog's nose in some crap, be prepared to live with your own nose stuffed in retaliation.

ISU...I don't "hate ISU", I just assign a little more curiosity to what happens to them. I follow them a trifle more closely than most other teams Iowa plays regularly. I do that for UNI and other Big 10 teams too.

But, I really don't revel in when bad things happen to them. Why? They're not Iowa...just don't care enough about them to assign anything else to it. Their year that just ended? Fine season, tough loss to end it. Definitely a better team at the end than when Iowa played them (same for Iowa).

Otherwise, see you next December.

ISU will be fine. They will finish next season about where they finished this one. That's what they do.
They get a bunch of transfers that play well individually, but struggle against more cohesive teams. That's who they are, and who they always will be as long as they keep filling their roster with transfers.

this +1....maybe someone could correct me as I do not visit Cyclone Rivals..but it seems we hear from them on HR more then the opposite. That alone defines the syndrome.

they have had a terrific run the last several years..the near future?

I'm sort of liking where Fran has Hawkeye BB at in the near future.

I disagree think they'll have a drop off. Look at the transfers hoiberg brought in the likes of Royce white, Kane and burton. Prohm brings in 2 5th yr seniors in Bowie and Holden and both got beat out by a freshman at end of the year. Prohm walked into a great situation with a loaded jr and sr class with 2 all American caliber players. Now that hoibergs guys are gone we will really see how good of a coach he is.

The OP is obsessed with ISU, of that there is no doubt. Probably 90% of his posts are about ISU, as were his previous handles before they were banned for blatant stupidity.

I wish we didn't have to keep wading through these types of posts, but one thing is for sure--no Iowa State fans have attempted to hijack this thread yet, which means they lost yesterday. Shoot, even the Nebraska football trolls engaged in eating humble pie with a little light-hearted banter after their Black Friday loss. But Iowa State trolls? Nope. Too weak, too cowardly, too pathetic. After Iowa kicked their ass in December? Yep, crickets. Prior to the game, though? All talk. So the more this script plays out the more I dislike Iowa State for this reason. Outside of LC, their fan base is a bunch of chicken sh!t coward pussies.

BUT... if Iowa should lose against TCU, the Clone trolls will be here in droves. Pretty predictable. And yep, pretty sad. But let's be real. Their fan base is too weak and not deserving of our time. In short, f#@k 'em. Just forget them. They know they aren't relevant nationally, as much as they would like to believe so, so their only hope in getting validation for that is on here. My advice? It's time to just yawn at them. Weak, cowardly, pathetic bunch of sheep fornicators. Good bye and good riddance. LMAO.

Good points. I'm sure when they come back will be hearing how they'll continue the success they've had last few years and how great their freshman will be and blah, blah, blah.

I see ISU being like Oklahoma this year. Sooners lost star in Hield and strong supporting senior cast. Brought back one senior and some good freshman with some other young guys and still struggled big time. Thing is Texas and OU down this year will be better next and TCU with Jamie Dixon at the helm only be getting better in conference play.

I disagree, Hoiberg made that work to a degree, with allot of luck. Prohm is not Hoiberg. Hes also not willing to compromise on character as much as Fred was.

Niang, Morris, Long, Thomas were all high-school recruits and thats been their core for the last 3 years atleast.

Burton is the only impactfull transfer they have had in a while.

Prohm will have to recruit high-school players to be successful and hes not the x and os coach Hoiberg was and he doesn't play the style that made ISU attractive to those good offensive players.

They are not going to replicate the success of Hoiberg.

The thing that Iowa State fans keep parroting is "best recruiting class in school history." Says who? These kids haven't seen one second of the floor yet in a Cyclone uniform. Who knows how good they will be. Plus, do they forget plenty of other P5 teams have good recruiting classes too? Iowa State isn't the only P5 school with a 4-star nationally ranked kid. Just saying...

The point I'm making is no one knows for sure. No one. No Iowa fan can say for sure "Yep, ISU is going to suck now." And no ISU fan can say "Yep, we're going to continue to be awesome." Well, one, ISU had a brief flirtation with national relevance when The Mayor was there, and that prospect died at the flirtation stage, so in my estimation--you know based on facts not categorized as "alternative"--Iowa State has never been awesome or nationally relevant in the first place. So having established that, the question is can Iowa State rise up to that level of flirting with national relevance again? The short answer is we don't know. What we can say is rather likely is that Iowa State will not be as good next year and will have a lot of growing pains to endure. Will those kids bring Iowa State basketball back to what Niang, Morris, and company elevated the program to in a couple years or so? We don't know.

Regardless, germane to the real point is this: the majority of our ISU friends who visit us on this board one) are delusional two) are delusional three) live in a bubble of alternative facts and four) are delusional 5) cowards who only show up here to gloat when they win a game or when Iowa loses one and 6) are delusional, so having this conversation with the hope of any semblance of logic and reasoning is a dubious one at best so long as the mental midget sheep fornicators are allowed to pollute this board with their own special brand of idioCY.

The correct answer is they are NOT LIKELY to replicate the success of Hoiberg.

And let's also be real here. Since Fred Hoiberg took over in 2010, Iowa State's highest finish in the Big XII was being tied for 3rd place. Yep, tied for 3rd place. They had two Sweet Sixteen appearances in 7 years (one of which was a cake walk) and that's as far as they've gotten.

So please forgive me when I roll my eyes at hearing all of this talk about how "nationally relevant" Iowa State is or has been. They've been good, sure. Nationally relevant? Well, if having your best Big XII conference finish be tied for 3rd place and you've made it to two Sweet 16s in seven years is what makes you nationally relevant, well then, yep, sure, I concede they are nationally relevant.

Maybe if isu fans didn't come here and act as they do we wouldn't have any need that mock them.

I don't have any problem with mocking them. ISU used to make my blood boil - especially the female students that actually believed they had a better football program. A few years after college that passed for me and their now just another team.

But don't give me this crap about them being "obsessive" or "little brother". I mean it's a message board, do whatever the hell you want, but its weird to constantly talk about someone constantly talking about you.

I think it's more that bball is the only relevant sport at ISU.
If they think they are on the level of kentucky, unc etc.....that's just funny :)

They play in a conference with one champion in nearly the last decade and a half. Says alot.

Iowa just got beat by the team that finished 7th in the Big 12 and they were playing without their best player. Probably not the best time to try to puff your hawkeye chest. BTW ISU dominated TCU. Twice.

Dominated? LOL, make 50% from FT line IA wins. TCU is going to be nasty next year. I am happy with my 90% freshmen/sophmore led team and how they did this year. Adding 3 more pieces next year as well.

You realize you also lost to them and by the way you also lost to Iowa.

Uh, we beat the team that sent you home.

TCU did what the clowns couldn't, beat our freshmen in Iowa City.

9-5 is the score the Big Ten has over the Texas Ten this year? Probably not the best time for clown fans to spout off about how awesome the Texas Ten is.

Facts don't matter to clown fans and their myopia. They will tell us what does and doesn't count. Or maybe they will just run away and hide as usual.

Really disappointed to see this season and this run for the seniors end. Thought I was past the point of really liking players (in the end we're just rooting for laundry as Seinfeld put it), but these guys were a special group of kids.

I like Iowa's team a lot and I think they have a great run ahead of them as well. There is a lot to look forward to for next year and beyond.

I can get along fine with reasonable ISU fans. You guys had a great run and I would take it in a heart beat. I'm ok admitting that. I think you'll be similar to Iowa next season, on bubble somewhat with a possibility of making it but I'll be somewhat surprised if you do.
