Oh, I took constitutional law when I was in college. I understand the Constitution and how things are supposed to work. It's just they haven't worked for a very long time.
There has always existed a power struggle between the 3 branches of government. The Judicial branch jumped out early and grabbed power in 1803 with Marbury v Madison and it's been on from there.
Congress is to make the laws, Courts to interpret the laws, and President to enforce the laws. Today we have the President making the laws through EO, Courts keeping those EOs in check, and Congress silently murmuring about controlling the checkbook, which with DOGE we're finding out that Congress doesn't even have the Power of the Purse anymore as Elon and Trump are ignoring Congressional appropriations.
I just wonder if at some point is Congress going to try to assert themselves as an equal branch of government or if they'll just continue being a little biatch.
And no, this is not just Trump centric, Congress has been a little biatch for a long time now. The last few weeks have really highlighted how weak they are. If Trump takes the checkbook from them too, them what exactly is the purpose of Congress?
