Didn't Wisconsin go after Waukee for using their "W" on Waukee's helmet?Considering how U of I went after Southern Miss, I can't imagine they wouldn't go after this high school
OMG !!! The Hawk on the kid and dads t-shirts is a dead ringer for the Tiger Hawk ..... that can't be Legal.
Unauthorized use of a trademark without objection by the holder can be seen in the eyes of the law as the same thing as waiving those claims. Allowing something like that to happen would be a mistake with tens of zeros on it for the university. On another note, Taylor Swift is trying to copyright "1989".... We already have the Birthday song copyrighted. This stuff is getting ridiculous, I can see an issue with another University, but a high school all the way across the country. Couldn't care less.

You have to protect the trademark so you don't lose it. My guess is UI license didn't know, now with this thread that high school will get a nice cease and desist letter.
Ha! You can almost see the pixel artifacts from where they moved the gap and raised the base in Microsoft Paint. So wait, Urbandale got rid of the Jayhawk but them went out and ripped off Miami with the U on their helmets.... You would think you would learn a lesson.
Either that or the high school is already paying the U of Iowa a small usage fee.
On a side note... man Franklin seems like such a slimeball.
