There is still another signing period to go and some open slots.

Who are Iowa’s Final big recruiting targets and do they have any needs they need to fill yet?

It was noted that they would get to work re-evaluating needs and potential options after the bowl. I am sure there is more potential out there that they will uncover.

On one of the other forums I read michael thompson is visiting in January
Let's hear more about this.

I remember there was this rb who moved to Iowa this past year and claimed he would be the best rb in Iowa high school ball this year. Canaan Cox, no relation to Jasir that I know of, ran for over 2000 yds and 39 tds this year. Undersized as I recall.

Cox signed with the University of South Dakota last week. Played HS at Remsen St. Mary IIRC. Not much size - 5ft8 about 170lbs. His film does look good (Freddie Russell clone).

SIAC, but was there a specific reason given as to why Brents and DJJ didn't sign in the early period?

Now with scholarships given to Recinos and Easley, I wonder how many spots are left? I would not be surprised to see a couple transfers before next semester and I have a feeling that Josh Jackson will be leaving. It would be nice to finish this already strong class with a couple more ballers!

Saw Tyrik Henderson decommitted from the goofrs. We probably dont need anymore dbs for the class. Not sure he's looking at us either.

I see Georgia has more 4-5 star commits than we have total commits. Yikes. That’s just not fair.

Pardon this off-topic post, but I just wanted to say that I would love to see the Hawks wear that uni in your avatar at least once a year. I thought it was so badass to see the wings on the shoulders. When I remember Tim Dwight, that uni is synonymous with him to me.

True dat bighawk! I'm thinking we need another OT having lost Torres who likely would have started there upon his arrival.

Played 8-man, headed to South Dakota. Seems like a major head case.

Actually you would be surprised if WE DIDN'T HAVE SEVERAL TRANSFERS IN THE OFF-SEASON.
Plus a few guys will just give up football all together. Happens every year.

If I could offer one kid who I knew would accept it, I'd offer Kansas City area 4 star Athlete (WR/CB 6'2" 190) Mario Goodrich. Great speed and talent. Former Nebraska commit. LSU lean but Ed Orgeron is a jerk and could be worse than Les Miles regardless of Ed's recruiting prowess. Goodrich could be a Jabril Peppers/ Charles Wooden type or simply a great WR. I see Josh Jackson as gone to the NFL. Iowa has enough LBs for now in the fold. Iowa could use a talented athlete that can do KR, PR, and /or WR. If the kid has played CB, he can tackle and handle blocking. I am talking about offering an next year impact guy to the Iowa program.

I figure that if a guy have not seen any real action by the end of their sophomore year, you probably won't make any depth chart. By your redshirt junior year there are at least 4 underclassmen vying for your spot. The nature of the beast.

I don't know who will stay and who will go but the historical trends favor (health and lack of playing time/ no bowl pep talk):

POTENTIAL LIST FROM ROSTER:

Ryan Boyle,Tyler Wiegers,Marcel Joly,Sam Cook,Adrian Falconer,Nate Vejvoda, Dallas Jacobus, Brandon Simon,Caleb Shudak, Jake Newborg (health), Romeo McKnight, Ben Campos,

Guys who I hope don't leave and produce next year :

Kyshaun Bryan, Trey Creamer, Barrington Wade,Toks Akinribade

This ignores the reality that fans post this a thousand times a year:

"Can't wait to see what this kid can do after Doyle has him for a few years."

^^^ That suggests that KirkKids won't see the field till their junior or senior year. Which you seem to be suggesting are the only classes that experience transfers . . . which is simply not true. KF has a history of giving out union cards. So the idea that a non-contributor automatically doesn't have anything to contribute is false imo.
I remember Sokol/Weinke/CJB/Rudock sitting on the bench watching Vandy lead us to a 4 win season. I'll agree with the idea that many transfers don't amount to much . . . but then if we're truly a DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAM doesn't that suggest that we're special cuz we DEVELOP players who wouldn't amount to much if they committed to a different program?
