Love seeing this. Wouldn’t mind seeing it for the next decade or so. Hammers!!!
Idk what it would take to land that firepower but the bassetts, Leo, Spencer, Desanto working out everyday with Terry coaching. What’s better than that for lightweights
They need to fire every bullet in the chamber!!!How often do they bring Gable out to talk to recruits?
Hopefully his dad realizes the fans he was hot about last week were not our fans like he thought.Well, that's encouraging.
Do my eyes decieve or has BK put on some muscle?
Not a good thing for any program imo.Every college recruiting Bassett is offering his dad some sort of job within the program from what I hear EXCEPT PSU. No way Carl will. So does Iowa? I'm curious about that.
Nope. Just the group we knew were comingAnyone sneak in that wasn't previously said?
If he's qualified, sure. Why not? It doesn't need to be permanent. Is he qualified to be an assistant club coach, or assistant recruiting coordinator or something of the sort? Assistant to the traveling secretary maybe? Figure it out.Every college recruiting Bassett is offering his dad some sort of job within the program from what I hear EXCEPT PSU. No way Carl will. How do you figure it is not legal? I seen on a social media post a month ago that a rumor going around was Rutgers wants him to be an assistant strength coach. He is a good coach and doing something right obviously so it makes sense. Not legal, so not true. Can’t even hire them as RTC coaches.
Would basically have to help him set up his wrestling club.

Aren’t Fix and Carr’s dads employed by their respective RTC’s?Welp. I stand corrected. You CAN hire family members to university/staff positions.
You can’t hire them to the RTC. So yeah. Rutgers with an offer to dad Bassett would be a legal and enticing offer of recruitment
They changed the rule after Carr, specifically.Aren’t Fix and Carr’s dads employed by their respective RTC’s?
And Daddy Fix is no longer on the payroll. They changed the rule after Carr, specifically.
But he is still around to hand out supliments and "protein" shakes. And Daddy Fix is no longer on the payroll.
I've heard a couple schools offered him a spot somewhere. I don't think it would hurt.Welp. I stand corrected. You CAN hire family members to university/staff positions.

Someone should tell Okie st and Iowa st it’s illegal. Not legal, so not true. Can’t even hire them as RTC coaches.

why don't we just worry about getting just one of the two to committ... or two of them to committ to full time wrestling..before we start worrying about where the fit in the line up.My thoughts:
Where does Ross and or Mocco fit? Ross is not going 197. BK has HWT locked for the next 4 years.
I know everyone loves Bassett but Jax is very very very freaking good.
While all this is going on. You HAVE to land the Raney brothers just incase you don't get Bassett.
Deluca will be a 4 year 125 end of discussion.
Penn State loads the room with top talent and let's it work it's way out. Let's do that and see what happens. Get the checkbook out!
Id be pretty surprised if Jax and Bassett both end up at the same weight. I envision one at 141 and the other at 149, or growing into 149 and 157 respectively while in college. Hopefully they can land several of these kids.My thoughts:

The second situation would be ideal if we land the Raneys also. Of course the odds of landing all 4 would be about the same as getting hit by lightning. Probably better chance of landing none of them than all of them. At a minimum we need to land Ross if he try’s to wrestle full or part time like Ben.Id be pretty surprised if Jax and Bassett both end up at the same weight. Very polite young man. Dare I say he doesn't really sound like he is coming to Iowa? When a guy says he's so grateful for this specific opportunity to wrestle these guys it gives me the vibe he's not foreseeing doing it regularly in the future.

I hope I'm drastically wrong.
Well you are drastically pessimistic 😂. I hope they are not a package deal or we are screwed, because I think Jax is more of a long shot. I think the program with the best shot at landing both is Oklahoma state, because many have said that’s where Jax is going even before Taylor arrived, and Bo slready had Taylor in his phone before he was even a college coach. They both seemed panicked when Taylor blew them off for a few days before calling them. Between Taylor doing this and apparently wanting to be stingy with money with big recruits , it shows how arrogant he is. If it works, he knows he will own everyone in recruiting wars for the foreseeable future, even PSU.Very polite young man. Dare I say he doesn't really sound like he is coming to Iowa? I think it is a good way to recruit. There is no need to kiss a recruits butt from day one and it is also nice to make a kid decide. The kid has to decide - Do I want to go where I fit in and get a decent amount of money and feel the best or do I want top go where I get the most money?Well you are drastically pessimistic 😂. They command more money because that is now the nature of the animal. I would do the same thing if I was in their shoes.I think it is a good way to recruit. These kids are getting the impression that they can demand whatever they want and get it. If a kid comes to your school for less money, you can have a pretty good sense that they will stay. I would rather have that than wonder if a kid is going to leave for a better offer somewhere. As a coach, I would not want to be constantly looking over my shoulder to see who will be there next year and who am I going to lose.
I said if he can do this and still land top guys, he may take over PSU place at the top sooner than you think. TNT used to use that approach but it didn’t work well and the aggressive recruiters like Cael and Tan Tom were harvesting blue chips while we were getting projects. Now they are trying to adapt to the modern recruiting game. Better late than never I guess. Gable found out there is a limit to what we can pay for a kid, even with his generational talent.I think it is a good way to recruit.
