Recruits getting to see a great Iowa crowd

And an incredibly innovative and exciting offense.

Maybe it's all defensive recruits if we are lucky.

Seriously? Against a real B10 defense? This was Nate Stanley's first big game and he got better in the 2nd half (and WRs started catching passes). He and the rest of the O will benefit from this game. They now see what strength, athleticism, and speed on defense looks like, and they found out Stanley can perform in a huge game at crunch time. Hopefully, Iowa will become more and more comfortable putting the game in Stanley's hands after this game and as the season goes on. He's capable of being a pass-first QB. I'm on the fence with BF because it's early. If teams keep loading the box and he calls plays from the beginning of the game more like he did in the second half, especially the 4th Q, then I'll be impressed with how well he's able to adjust his play calling to benefit his players' strengths. We'll see, but great game experience for the young guys, especially.

If kids don't want to play for Iowa after this game against the #4 team in the country I don't know what enviornment would excite them. The outcome was a disappointment, but we were 1 play away from getting the W.

As for knocking the coaches they put together a game plan that almost beat a team with vastly superior talent.

I think we can compete for recruits and I just don't see this game costing us kids.

That game, the way the Hawks valiantly fought, and the game environment ... it can only HELP the Hawks.
